Happy Thanksgiving to all,
Its hard to believe the Holiday season is upon us again. Lets give thanks that the Fall weather has finally arrived.
Last month's stone crab meeting was a success. Clearwater Yacht Club presented us with a great dinner and I think fun was had by all. There were some words of wisdom and humor from a few of our members.
Please check the events calendar to keep informed of the upcoming meetings. There will be a Holiday Happy Hour on December 7th. Take a break from your shopping to have a refreshment with your fellow members.
I think it is an appropriate month for all of us to be thankful for all the blessings that dentistry has given us. Please give back to our community , anyway possible.

Dan Bertoch Memorial Grant Available
will provides funding for first-time attendees to DDOH.
Complete the application form and submit a letter to the West Coast District Dental Association by January 31, 2019. The grant can be used towards transportation to and from Tallahassee and accommodations at the host hotel.

2018 Survey of Dental Fees Now Available
The ADA conducts a biennial survey of dental fees charged by general practitioners and specialists. The 2018 survey is free to ADA members and reviews fees for 269 different dental procedures. The survey includes:
- National average fees for both general practitioners and each of the six specialties
- National-level statistics for fees for more than 200 commonly performed dental procedures
- Average fees charged by general practitioners in nine regional areas, based on U.S. Census divisions
- Standard deviation and percentiles for each fee
- Dental procedures identified by procedure code and nomenclature from the Code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature as published in the ADA's CDT 2016
- Methodology, glossary and survey instrument information

Volunteers Needed
The Homeless Empowerment Program" (HEP) helps those who need help to get back into self sufficiency and productive society. Our motto is "Helping people help themselves". We need dentists and hygienists who are ready and willing to "GIVE BACK". We have wonderful volunteers who are nearing the end of their ability to give back, for health reasons, and need volunteers who will "take up the cause" in their place. All clinical volunteers work under "sovereign immunity", so insurance is not needed. A valid license is required.
If you can give your time and skills for as little as once a month, or more if possible, HEP would welcome your help. Flexible schedules are available to enable making it possible for you to volunteer whenever you can.
If you feel you are very fortunate to have the family, friends, skills, and lifestyle that you enjoy and appreciate, and you are able and willing to "give back", HEP would love to have you join our team.
