Policy review
Security Health Plan policy review - Effective June 2020

Security Health Plan reviews medical policies on a monthly basis. Medical policies are found in the provider section of the Plan's public website at www.securityhealth.org/providers. Read more  for policy reviews and changes effective June 1, 2020.
eviCore updates radiation oncology policies

eviCore has announced key changes for radiation oncology policies that will be effective either July 1, August 1 or Sept. 1, 2020. The update guidelines will be posted to the Radiation Oncology Solution at eviCore.com. Read more for a brief description of each policy revision.

Requirements for accurate telehealth documentation

To support you in the care of your patients who are Security Health Plan members, we want to ensure your telehealth documentation completely and accurately reflects services rendered.
 
Your telehealth documentation must, at a minimum, include the following:
  • Method of telehealth (e.g., secure two-way interactive video connection, phone call, etc.)
  • Member location (e.g., clinic [city/name], home, other)
  • Listing of all clinical participants, roles and actions (e.g., applicable when member presents at a clinic with MD at another location)
  • Provider location (e.g., clinic [city/name], home, other)
  • Time spent, including start/stop times, if required for the service (e.g., psychotherapy)
  • Patient consent

Other documentation requirements are the same as with a face-to-face encounter.
NCQA reaffirms Security’s Excellent Accreditation status
Security Health Plan has received another 3-year Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to run from May 2020 to May 2023. In addition, Security’s Medicare-HMO/POS plans received the highest accreditation level possible – Excellent. The Health Plan’s Commercial, Medicaid and Exchange (also known as Marketplace) plans also received NCQA Accreditation.   Read more
