Business Update for those Facing the Impact of COVID-19

Additionally, effective at 11:59 p.m. tonight, per  Miami-Dade County Emergency Order 23-20  all establishments that are licensed to serve alcoholic beverages,  MUST  cease the sale of those alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and 6 a.m. each day ; and hookah lounges shall remain closed.
 
Any violation of the city's Emergency Measures may subject the individual, operator, business entity, or organization to arrest and criminal prosecution pursuant to Section 26-36 and Section 1-14 of the City Code. Furthermore, any violation of the provisions of this Order may subject an operator, business entity, or organization to the closure of the establishment for a period of at least 24 hours, or through the duration of the State of Emergency.

County Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced he will close all of the beaches in Miami-Dade County starting Friday, July 3, and ending Tuesday, July 7 . The closure may be extended if conditions do not improve and people do not follow "New Normal" rules requiring masks to be worn always inside commercial establishments and outdoors when social distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible.

Miami-Dade County Small Business
Relief Program
Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez announced the implementation of Miami-Dade County's initial fiscal response to the impacts on small businesses brought on by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. For more information, click here.
CareerSource South Florida (CSSF) announces the COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund , designed to support to small businesses and/or community-based organizations (CBOs) within Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties facing financial impacts and potential layoffs from COVID-19. The fund provides grants to eligible small businesses and/or CBOs affected by the Public Health Emergency Declaration.
 
Applications must be submitted no later than tomorrow, June 30, 2020.
 
Recipients may receive up to $10,000 from the COVID-19 Layoff Aversion Fund 30 calendar days following the expiration of Executive Order 20-51 or until funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first. The following scale will be utilized to award grants 3–10 full time employees up to $5,000, 11–25 full-time employees up to $7,500.00, 26–50 full-time employees up to $10,000. Staying Healthy

Personal responsibility is of the utmost importance.
The city urges everyone to do their part in stopping the spread of this deadly virus, including:
  • Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol
  • Social distancing with members outside of your household
  • Wearing a face covering
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
  • Taking personal responsibility. If you are sick with a fever, cough or viral symptoms, please stay away from others, including the work environment and crowded area
