WEEKLY TIP FROM THE COLLEGE COUNSELOR
|
|
Tuesday Tip from the College Counselor
#2: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Make sure to take both the ACT and the SAT. Colleges have no preference, and students often perform comparably better on one than the other. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you discover which test suits you best, take that test one more time in the fall of your senior year.

The Parents’ Auxiliary invites all parents to our last Lunch and Learn meeting of the year this coming
Tuesday, April 23
at

in the
Rugg Room
on the MS campus (

). At this session, presenter Debbie Allen will use case illustrations to examine both the positive and negative impacts of social media and technology, explore common sense interventions and safety tips, and share how to help adolescents be advocates rather than bystanders online. Relevant online resources and articles that address these issues will be discussed and shared.
About the Speaker

She is a senior clinician with Family Therapy Institute of Santa Barbara and is Adjunct Faculty at Antioch University of Santa Barbara in the MA Counseling Psychology department. ONCE UPON A MATTRESS
DEBUTS IN TWO WEEKS!
MAY 2, 3, & 4 | 7PM | SPAULDING THEATRE
|
|
If you thought you knew the story of ‘The Princess and The Pea,’ you may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larken’s love for Sir Harry provided a rather compelling reason that she reach the bridal altar post haste? Or that, in fact, it wasn’t the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turn hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you’ll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.
Directed by Performing Arts Instructor Dana Caldwell.
PERFORMANCE DATES
May 2, 3, & 4, 2019 | 7PM

Laguna kindergarteners and third graders kicked off this week on the Condor Express for an exciting morning filled with marine life sightings. The group spotted five humpback whales, one minke whale, and the rare

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ATTEND ACTION-PACKED BATTLEBOTS TAPING IN LONG BEACH
|
|
On Tuesday, Laguna STEM Instuctor Mr. Pagano and nine lucky middle school students traveled to Long Beach to attend a live taping of ABC's BattleBots!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A former BattleBots competitor, Mr. Pagano asked middle school students to "apply" for the limited spots in order to be selected to take part in this unique experience. The application required students to explain why they wanted to go and what level of interest in robotics they have (and give their best knock-knock joke)! It was a day full of robot fighting fun!
