AHTD Conference Takeaway: Be Smart

Smart Vision Lights has been a supporter of the Association for High Technology Distribution (AHTD) for many years - and for good reason. Value-add distributors are a big part of our go-to market strategy, and we're grateful for the roster of partners that have made us one of the world's largest machine vision lighting companies.

This year's spring conference was another opportunity to learn about the best practices that help OEMs and distributors work together to mutual benefit - and we did learn. We learned that we need to make buying easier. (Stay tuned for some big announcements in that area very soon.) We learned that the markets may slow down in 2019, but we'll see if the automation market can buck expectations as the world continues to adopt our productivity-gaining solutions. We also learned that companies need to shift from growing in any direction to growing smartly. While in recent years, ITR Economic's Alan Beaulieu had suggested borrowing to buy anything, the song now is: Buy that house but buy on water.

In other words: Be smart. Alan, we're right there with you, and our customers are too.

Best wishes,
