The Boxer Brief
We are happy to report that intake has reopened! We are grateful to those who opened or re-opened their homes to fostering. If you’re still on the fence, please reach out to [email protected] as more fosters are always welcome.

We also are pleased to let you know that Kizzi, one of the dogs featured in our last issue, has been placed with a foster! We wish her every success as she continues her journey with ABR.

As always, we invite you to share any feedback and suggestions with us at  [email protected] .
Ways to Help: Dog Washing Day!
Don't let this picture of poor Melvin keep you from joining us for the spa day at our kennel in Hewitt (just south of Waco) this Saturday, August 3. Volunteers are needed to bathe, dry, and brush the dogs. We would especially appreciate anyone with nail trimming experience and will have clippers and dremels available. All activities will be held indoors or under tents. Please visit our signup page and navigate to August 3.

If you can’t make this Saturday but would like to help out at the kennel, there are plenty of opportunities to do so, just navigate to a day that works for you on our signup page and volunteer!

Ready for Furever Home or Foster: Bogart
Bogart is a 2-year-old fawn with a black mask who is blind, but he’s doing remarkably well considering the obstacles. He had been doing well with a foster as he loves attention and likes to be near people, but he came back to ABR after the foster moved. Please consider giving this special boy a chance.

August BSA:
Boxer Service Announcement
As we have so many new fosters, we thought resharing our post written by one of our experienced fosters about introducing a new dog to your pack would be helpful.

Volunteer Appreciation
We love all of our local volunteers who do so much for ABR, but this month we are giving a shout out to the San Antonio Home Visit volunteer team. Many go the extra mile for ABR, especially when time is short. We can always count on them to provide thorough reports in a timely manner.

So, HUGE kudos to the San Antonio Home Visit crew!! Y’all do a great job!!
