A NOTE FROM NILS
It’s great to have everyone back in the building! Students and staff have done a great job getting back in the groove and staying safe.

Thank you for completing the Pray-Woodman School Improvement Compact. Working together we can empower all of our students to be successful.

The second quarter ended last Thursday. It’s hard to believe that we are at the halfway point in the school year. Please be sure to check your child’s grades which will be available to view starting January 27th at 4pm.

We are looking forward to a great second semester!

FROM THE LIBRARY
We are so glad to be back in the building with all of the students! Our library is a much livelier and happier place with kids in it! We are doing our best to pair kids with books in the safest way possible. This year we realize the privilege that check out is as many districts aren’t able to do so. For many reasons we are only allowing one book to be checked out at a time. 2nd-5th graders are able to return their books whenever they are finished and use the online form to request a new one.

We hope you have had a chance to explore one of the many virtual offerings for books as well. Open eBooks is a fabulous, free app filled with great literature for all ages. If you are interested, please reach out to Mrs. Rodell (krodell@usd266.com) for a code. Tales2go is another great resource for audiobooks. It’s as easy as clicking on the app in ClassLink. Students can also listen by downloading and signing into the free app.

VALENTINE'S PARTY GUIDELINES FOR PRAY-WOODMAN
We are looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day at Pray-Woodman.

Due to Together 4 Tomorrow guidelines, we are so sorry that parents and family members will not be able to attend this year.

  • The classroom parties will take place on Friday, Feb. 12th.

  • Students CAN bring valentines from home - drop offs in the office will NOT be accepted. Loose candy CANNOT be included with valentines. If a student wants to put an edible item in the valentine, it must be factory sealed. Each teacher will provide additional details for this process.

  • The awesome PWS PTO is coordinating donations for snacks and drinks. Please refer to the PTO NEWS section below for details on how you can help.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
