"Sing God's Praises Forever." - Psalm 89:2-3,16-19

We Are Eager To Welcome You Back!
Dear Friends at Christ Our Hope,

In this weekend's Gospel, Jesus is talking about the obstacles that can get in the way of a relationship with him. It's an important question to ponder in this time of pandemic.

I have good news about the removal of one of these obstacles. Beginning Fourth of July weekend, Christ Our Hope will again offer public Mass at the regular times. Fr. Bryan and I look forward to celebrating Eucharist with more than the six people we've been limited to since mid-March.

The question on the everyone's mind is how large will this community be when we return? Who will be coming back to Mass?

As you know, much work goes into holding Mass each week. Many hands make light work. And we will need all available hands to ensure safety for all.

This Sunday, we are inviting our in-Mass liturgical ministers (ONLY EMs, lectors, sacristans, ushers, greeters, choir members, etc.) to join us for a private Mass, which will be broadcast live at 8:30 AM, 5 PM and 7PM on Facebook. The private Mass will be followed by a 30-minute safety plan training session. All will be required to wear masks and seated six feet from other non-family members to ensure proper social distancing.

We know many of you will choose not to attend public Mass until a vaccine is developed. The Archdiocese is encouraging anyone over 60, or with underlying health issues, or a suppressed immune system or pregnant to avoid public gatherings such as Mass for now. Each person who does attend public Mass does so at his or her own risk.

If you are one of these in-Mass liturgical ministers who wishes to come back, please check your emails for a registration link.

We are eager to see you in person again.

Peace,

Deacon Dennis Kelly
Pastoral Coordinator

Racial Justice Town Hall

Thank you to all who attended our second Racial Justice Dialogue on Monday, June 22nd. In the month of June Patrick Barredo, Director of Social Outreach and Advocacy at St. James facilitated two  parish dialogues on Racial Justice. This past week we discussed how our faith leads us to action both as individuals and as a faith community. Our parish is creating a Racial Justice and Reconciliation Collective that will help us discern our future actions together as a parish. If you would like to join this group, please email Deanna Tighe. Updates can be found on our website here. Thank you!

Virtual Sunday Coffee Hour

Thank you to our parishioners Bola, Jani, Jessica, Jo Ann and Obi for their sharing their stories at this past Sunday's hospitality about being Black in the Catholic Church. It was a powerful witness to where we are as Church.

We invite everyone to join us for our virtual hospitality after the 8:30 AM Mass on Sunday, June 28 via Zoom This coffee hour we will hear from Christ Our Hope family members who are living out their faith by volunteering and ministering in the local Seattle community.

LGBTQ Catholic Ministry Conference

Outreach 2020, the LGBTQ Catholic Ministry Conference, was scheduled to be held in June 2020 at Fordham University in New York City. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the conference's postponement until next year.

Now several of the conference's speakers and panelists offer messages of support and encouragement to their LGBTQ Catholic friends and those who minister with them.
