Here we are already about to enter our 8th week of distance learning and the last five-day school week of 2019-2020. I want to encourage our Knights to make the most of these final days of the school year. Even in the midst of distance learning, embrace each day; use it as an opportunity to make yourself a better person and a better student. All of our teachers and myself want our students to get the grades they deserve for this final quarter, so please be sure to turn in any assignments this week even if they are from much earlier in the quarter.

This is really my sole message for the week as it is that important: all assignments must be turned in by Friday, May 22. Give it your best effort each day Knights and as I have written in this space every week this quarter, thank you for your ongoing commitment to distance learning under the circumstances. I am so very proud of our Knights, our teachers, and their families!

With Knight Pride,

Stephanie R. Jackson, M. Ed.

Student Assignment Expectation - Weekly Attendance Quiz

All teachers post an assignment on Monday detailing their expectations or outline for the week. Students are to acknowledge they understand the expectations by answering a one question assignment quiz for each class; this will serve as your attendance check-in. The answer is due by noon Friday of that week. Students will be marked absent if the weekly attendance quiz is not completed.

Knight Reminder . . .

Monday's Motivational Moment!

The Ten-Goal Exercise

With summer break now only seven school days away and the 2020-2021 school year set to begin on August 10th, we want to remind our Knights of one of the best goal-achieving methods ever discovered. In fact, it is really something that can be practiced every day.

At the top of a blank page, write the word "Goals" and today's date. Then write out ten goals you would like to accomplish in the next twelve months - this goes all the way through the end of the next school year. Be sure to mix them up: academics, sports, clubs, friends, reading, financial, family, personal possessions, fitness, faith, and even fun. Don't worry for the moment as to how you are going to achieve them, just write them down as fast as you can in no particular order. Get this done in three to five minutes, no more.

This next step is key. Imagine for now you can achieve all your goals if you work hard enough or long enough. Also imagine that if you had a "magic wand" you could wave it and that you could achieve any one (1) goal on your list within twenty-four hours. You can only pick one so which one would have the greatest impact on your life right now? Which one would improve your life more than anything else? Which goal, if you were to achieve it, would help you to achieve more of your other goals than anything else?

Whatever you answer to these questions are, circle that one. That one becomes your "Major Definite Purpose for the Summer" and it will help keep you organized This is your focal point and the organizing principle behind your future activities. Once you've figured this out, give it a deadline and start to think about what action steps you must take during the summer of 2020 to make it happen. Make sure to have the most important or logical action steps mapped out and do something, anything, continuously towards this goal all summer long. Resolve to work on this goal each day during the summer break.

And if you don't get started on this ten-goal exercise right away Knights, remember: "One year from now, you may wish you had started today."
