The Cub Chatter is your quick-source for Cub-themed opportunities and exciting events across the Greater Alabama Council and beyond. Published monthly, the Cub Chatter is distributed to Scouts and Scouters who are involved in or interested in the Cub Scout program.

The best part of Scouting is the outing, and the best part of Cub Scouting is the Day Camp! We're pleased to announce our Camp in a Box Kits! These kits are tailored to your Scout's rank and needs! Each kit will ensure your Scout will have the tools and materials needed to work on both Core and Elective adventures, and that's just for the "Day" option!
 
The Overnight Kits contain all of the materials of the Day kits, but also contain additional adventure loops and advancement supplies, PLUS tools to help make your campfire a big hit!
 
Advancements that your Scout will have the chance to earn in the standard Daytime kit:
 
Tiger : My Tiger Jungle, Tigers in the Wild, Tiger Safe and Smart, Sky is the Limit
 
Wolf : Call of the Wild, Paws on the Path, Running with the Pack, Grow Something, Collections and Hobbies
 
Bear : Bear Necessities, Furs-Feathers-Ferns, Bear Goes Fishing, Super Science
 
Webelos : Stronger-Faster-Higher, Webelos Walkabout, Adventures in Science, Earth Rocks
 
Arrow of Light : Outdoor Adventure, Scouting Adventure, Adventures in Science, Earth Rocks

In the Overnight Kits, Scouts will get everything in the Daytime kit plus materials for these Adventure Loops:

Wolf: Finding Your Way and Air of the Wolf

Bear : Marble Madness

Webelos/Arrow of Light : Adventure into the woods, Looking Back-Looking Forward, and Into the Wild

Good news! The Huntsville and Birmingham Scout Shops are open to serve you and your Scouting needs! The shops have modified hours and a modified schedule, so please take note:
 
Tuesday-Friday: 10am-6pm
Saturday: 10am-2pm

Save the date: Fish Camp 2020!

This August 28-30 at beautiful Camp Jackson, the GAC will be hosting its first Fish Camp for Adult Leaders and youth 13 and older! This weekend long event will feature advancement opportunities for Scouts BSA and Venturing youth as well as skills instruction for Adults and youth to help you bring fishing and angling to your Pack, Troop, Crew, Ship, or District's annual program!

Fish Camp is open to Cub Scout Leaders as a way to learn more about fishing and how to integrate this timeless, quintessential Scouting activity into your Pack and Den meetings.

Headed up by two, BSA Certified Angling Instructors, this weekend course will help you learn casting techniques, how to read water conditions, proper baits, equipment overview, skills games, and much more!
Cub Day Camp 2020 Refund Information

As of Tuesday, June 2nd, all refunds for Cub Day Camp 2020 have been processed by the office and handed off to our credit/debit processing vendor. It can take up to fourteen (14) days for the refunds to be applied to your credit or debit card, so please monitor your statements closely to ensure that your refund has been issued.
