The Gardeners work party will be suspended until October.  Thank you to all who have helped during this last year and we look forward to starting up in the fall.
EEHOA Board Resolution on Parking
During a Special Meeting of the Board of Directors on May 27, a resolution was adopted to prohibit the parking of any vehicle on an HOA Common Area.  This resolution is posted on the EEHOA website under Forms & Documents/Board Resolutions.  Also, a r eminder to Homeowners that vehicles may not be parked in the driveway if it blocks or significantly impairs pedestrian travel on any sidewalk.  Please have consideration for your neighbors with limited mobility who are trying to use the sidewalk.
Improvements to Storage Areas at Ramada
Some improvement work to facilitate access to our Hospitality Committee storage areas has been completed in the pool enclosure. The work was done as a safety measure as frequent access to these areas is required after dark at the conclusion of Ramada social events. The work was paid for by our Enhancement Team from proceeds of their fund raising activities and at no expense to the HOA. The Team has plans for additional enhancement work at the Ramada in the near future.
Tall Palms
Sorry to be a broken record, but here's a friendly reminder about getting your tall palms trimmed.  As you already know, they are a serious fire hazard, especially during monsoon season.  The deadline in Esperanza Estates to have your palm trees trimmed is June 30.  Homeowners can hire anyone they desire to do the work.  EE has an agreement with  Monstrosity Tree Service, 520-230-7131, for $70/tree which they will honor for everyone in EE. Trees untrimmed by June 30 will be trimmed by the HOA, and homeowners will be billed $80/tree.  Please call Cyndie Alto 509-881-7569 with questions.  Thanks to everyone who has already taken care of their palms!
MOVING ON
Long time Esperanza Estates residents,  Eric and Jane Ellingson , are moving to Jane's home town of  Peterborough, NH , in  mid-June . Over their 25 years here, Eric and Jane have been enthusiastic and involved supporters of the EE community.  Eric served as President of the EEHOA Board, served on Neighborhood Relations, and organized the project to sound proof the Ramada. A s a member of NEET (Neighborhood Environmental Enhancement Team), the predecessor to the Enhancement Team, he h elped convert the old putting green into the Ramada Garden, tiled the original Ramada kitchen and did the electrical work.  Jane also served on the Enhancement Team, designed the original Ramada Garden,  organized the First Day luncheons at the Ramada, participated in the Gardeners and Fiber Arts groups, and delivered the EE Periodicos to homebound residents. Together, Eric and Jane sponsored weekly Wednesday Night Movies at the Ramada and delivered EE donations the Food Bank.  In addition, they have also donated several of the permanent benches and tables in our common areas. Our most sincere thanks to Eric and Jane for everything they have done for the Esperanza Estates community.  They have left their mark on EE, and we wish them the very best as they move on to their next adventure.  Their friendly smiling faces will be missed.
EE CARING CONNECTIONS
For this week....
  • Many of us in EE have enjoyed listening to the sounds of the Big Band Era courtesy of local saxophonist Dick Rose.  Currently he's getting quite a workout at Copper Health, 1119 E. Ranch Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley, AZ 85755.  He hopes to return home soon.  In the meantime, he'd love to hear from friends and neighbors.  Send him a card or a note, if you can.  Or call the desk at 520-825-4669 and ask for Room 36.
  • Kay Kimla on Napa fell last weekend on a hike and broke her hip.  Joel Johannes reports that Kay is in St Mary's Hospital in Tucson.
  • Lynn Theder wants to say "thank you" to whomever left her a copy of the special sports section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It is dated Monday May 18, 2020 and was on her front table Wednesday May 27th. Thanks!!
Caring Connections is where we share news about EE neighbors who are  experiencing serious health issues or experiencing a difficult life event, so neighbors can connect and offer a hand or send a message of cheer.  I f   you know of a situation or would like to inform neighbors about your own situation, please contact Judy Hayes at 720-201-9260, jkhayes70@gmail.com, with the information and any special requests or needs.   MMM will follow up with the affected parties to obtain approval to mention it in the newsletter.
NEWS
Restaurant Rules Change
Here's an interesting piece about restaurant rules from the Green Valley Council Weekly.....
On May 21, the Board of Supervisors, in response to criticisms and concerns expressed by the restaurant industry, revised some of its Health Department rules for operation during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the most important changes was eliminating the fine for restaurants that do not follow the rules. However, those restaurants that consistently don't follow the rules will be listed on a Pima County website. Restaurants that do consistently follow the rules will be awarded a badge it can display and use in its advertising. Word to the wise--check the website before you dine out and look for the badge at the restaurants you might consider giving your business. Like the Boy Scouts, be prepared!

I'm so old that....
I have dialed a rotary phone (that did not have an answering machine), recorded a song that I love off of a transistor radio onto a tape recorder, watched a black and  white tv (with less than 10 channels) that had foil on the rabbit ear antennaes, taken a long walk without counting the steps, and eaten food that I didn't take pictures of.
