Dear Parents, Staff and Community Members,

We hope you are having an enjoyable summer in light of the circumstances. The District looks forward to sharing further details on planning for fall 2020 the first week in August. In the meantime, I am writing to share some information regarding a shift in our administration which will be relevant to the start of the school year. Due to personal health reasons unrelated to Covid-19, Dr. Pfeffer will need some additional support as Principal of Crow Island School as we begin school in August.

In light of this information, The Skokie School Assistant Principal, Mr. Larry Joynt, will serve as Principal on Special Assignment at Crow Island throughout the 2020-21 school year, partnering with the school community to ensure that Crow Island has the administrative support it needs.  Dr. Pfeffer, Mr. Joynt, and Skokie Principal, Ms. Weir, will work closely with District administration, educators, and families to ensure a smooth transition into this new arrangement.  A search process for a new Assistant Principal at The Skokie School is effective immediately. We are dedicated to supporting Dr. Pfeffer as she tends to her personal situation and grateful for Mr. Joynt's efforts to shift into this new position at Crow Island School. We will keep you apprised on the Assistant Principal search process at The Skokie School.

We look forward to reconnecting the first week in August. We appreciate your patience; we are aware you are eager to have further information as you plan for your family. In the meantime, please continue to stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Dr. Trisha Kocanda
Superintendent
