From Valerie Brunson:
Turkey Dinner and Bazaar Update
Our top priority as a Vestry is the health and well-being of our parishioners, both spiritual and physical. The Turkey Dinner and the Bazaar are time honored traditions in our parish, and we know that many people really enjoy these events. In addition to the fellowship they provide, these events supply income to the church. However, in light of the global pandemic, the COVID-19 Task Force as well as the Vestry discussed the viability of being able to hold these affairs in a way that would ensure that all were safe. Unfortunately, there are too many high risk activities involved and too many ways to get exposed, and both groups could not see a possible path forward. Therefore, after careful consideration, the Vestry has decided to cancel the Turkey Dinner and Bazaar for this year. We will continue to pursue other options to replace the money that would have been brought in from these two events. The gap has partly been filled by the Paycheck Protection Program money that we were recently awarded. We know that some of you will be very disappointed by this announcement, and for that we are truly sorry. The vestry feels like this is the only safe option to protect our church family and community at this point in time. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact your Vestry.
