• "The 2012 Tracking Report: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Grantmaking by U.S. Foundations"
  Funders for LGBTQ Issues has released the 2012 Tracking Report, which captures data on 4,068 grants awarded by 399 foundations in order to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities in LGBTQ philanthropy. This year's report finds that domestic foundation funding for LGBTQ issues exceeded $100 million for the first time while overall LGBTQ funding was largely stable. • "The 2013 National LGBT Movement Report"
  This annual report, published by MAP, examines the financial health of LGBT organizations.  Of note, LGBT organizations' revenue growth slightly outpaced the national nonprofit average (4 percent vs. 3.2 percent). 

• "Global Philanthropic Support to Address HIV/AIDS in 2012"
  This new report from Funders Concerned About AIDS shows little has changed when it comes to foundation funding for HIV/AIDS.  In 2012, global funding for HIV/AIDS totaled $636 million, an increase of less than one percent from 2011.

• "Philanthropy and the Social Economy: Blueprint 2014"
  The Foundation Center and the European Foundation Centre have released Lucy Bernholz's annual industry forecast as a GrantCraft guide.

• "Broken Dreams: How Enforcement-Only Bills in the House of Representatives Threaten to Further Marginalize the LGBT Undocumented"
  Cornell Law School's Advocacy for LGBT Communities Clinic and United We Dream's Queer Undocumented Immigrants Project ("QUIP") have released a new report that examines the negative effects pending legislation might have on LGBT immigrants.  The report includes quotations from former Funders intern Danilo Machado.

• "2012 Report on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and HIV-Affected Intimate Partner Violence"
  The New York City Anti-Violence Project has released a report on intimate partner violence (IPV) within the LGBTQ and HIV-affected community. The report shows the highest IPV homicide rate ever recorded, with nearly half of the victims being gay men.

• "For LGBT Donors, Russia Is The New Marriage"
  BuzzFeed World provides a look into the philanthropic efforts coalescing to address anti-LGBT sentiment in Russia, featuring quotes from Arcus's Kevin Jennings and Wellspring's Andrew Park. 

• "Corporate Equality Index" and "Municipal Equality Index"
  The Human Rights Campaign has updated both its "Corporate Equality Index" and its "Municipal Equality Index," with the latter more than doubling the number of cities it rated in 2012.

• "Caring for LGBTQ Children & Youth"
  The HRC Foundation's All Children-All Families project has released a guide for child welfare providers on proper care and support for LGBTQ children and youth in out-of-home care.

• "Democracy Remixed: Black Youth and the Future of American Politics"
  A new report from the Black Youth Project, an Arcus Foundation grantee, on the implications of new voting laws on youth of color.

• Deloitte joins the Global Equality Fund
  The Fund is a collaborative effort, led by the U.S. Department of State, to create an environment in which LGBT people can freely and without discrimination. Deloitte joins several major LGBTQ funders, such the Arcus Foundation and the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund, in contributing to the fund.

• Queers for Economic Justice Closes
  Queers for Economic Justice (QEJ) will close after 12 years because of a lack of funding.

• The Other Foundation
  The Other Foundation has announced the launch of its first pilot grantmaking initiative to advance the rights and well-being of LGBTI people in Southern Africa. The deadline is January 20.

• The Global Equality Fund (United States Department of State: Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor)
  The Global Equality Fund is requesting Statements of Interest (SOI) for grants ranging from $100,000-$500,000 that will support organizations working to advance the human rights of LGBTQ people globally.  The deadline is January 16.

• Trans Justice Funding Project
  The Trans Justice Funding Project is awarding grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to organizations run by and for trans communities with a budget of less than $250,000.  The deadline is February 15.

• Point Foundation
  The Point Foundation is now accepting applications for 2014 scholarships. Applicants who successfully fill out Part 1 will be notified to proceed to part 2 by January 22.

• Pride Foundation
  Pride Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships, due January 15.

• Independent Sector
  Independent Sector has opened nominations for the 2014 John W. Gardner Leadership Award. The deadline is January 31.

Recent Grant Award Announcements

• Arcus Foundation
  Arcus's latest round of Social Justice Program grants were awarded to 25 different organizations seeking to societal shifts away from discrimination against LGBTQ people in some of the most resistant parts of the world.

• The Rockefeller Foundation
  The Rockefeller Foundation has awarded $175,000 to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of New York City in support of LGBTQ youth.

• Pride Foundation
  The Pride Foundation has announced new grantees.  In 2013, Pride Foundation has awarded $7 million to organizations spread across five states.
