Research, Resources and Updates
- "The 2013 National LGBT Movement Report"
This annual report, published by MAP, examines the financial health of LGBT organizations. Of note, LGBT organizations' revenue growth slightly outpaced the national nonprofit average (4 percent vs. 3.2 percent).
- "Global Philanthropic Support to Address HIV/AIDS in 2012"
This new report from Funders Concerned About AIDS shows little has changed when it comes to foundation funding for HIV/AIDS. In 2012, global funding for HIV/AIDS totaled $636 million, an increase of less than one percent from 2011.
- "For LGBT Donors, Russia Is The New Marriage"
BuzzFeed World provides a look into the philanthropic efforts coalescing to address anti-LGBT sentiment in Russia, featuring quotes from Arcus's Kevin Jennings and Wellspring's Andrew Park.
- "Caring for LGBTQ Children & Youth"
The HRC Foundation's All Children-All Families project has released a guide for child welfare providers on proper care and support for LGBTQ children and youth in out-of-home care.
- Deloitte joins the Global Equality Fund
The Fund is a collaborative effort, led by the U.S. Department of State, to create an environment in which LGBT people can freely and without discrimination. Deloitte joins several major LGBTQ funders, such the Arcus Foundation and the M∙A∙C AIDS Fund, in contributing to the fund.

Requests for Proposals
- The Other Foundation
The Other Foundation has announced the launch of its first pilot grantmaking initiative to advance the rights and well-being of LGBTI people in Southern Africa. The deadline is January 20.
- Trans Justice Funding Project
The Trans Justice Funding Project is awarding grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to organizations run by and for trans communities with a budget of less than $250,000. The deadline is February 15.
- Point Foundation
The Point Foundation is now accepting applications for 2014 scholarships. Applicants who successfully fill out Part 1 will be notified to proceed to part 2 by January 22.
- Pride Foundation
Pride Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships, due January 15.
- Independent Sector
Independent Sector has opened nominations for the 2014 John W. Gardner Leadership Award. The deadline is January 31.

Recent Grant Award Announcements
- Arcus Foundation
Arcus's latest round of Social Justice Program grants were awarded to 25 different organizations seeking to societal shifts away from discrimination against LGBTQ people in some of the most resistant parts of the world.
- The Rockefeller Foundation
The Rockefeller Foundation has awarded $175,000 to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of New York City in support of LGBTQ youth.
- Pride Foundation
The Pride Foundation has announced new grantees. In 2013, Pride Foundation has awarded $7 million to organizations spread across five states.
