City Council accepts donation of Phillips Event Center property
The Phillips Event Center is now owned by the City of Bryan. A t their May 18, 2020 meeting, t he Bryan City Council accepted the property as a donation from Wallace Phillips of the 1980 Phillips Group, LLC. The donation of the Phillips Event Center includes 7.27 acres of land, six tennis courts, a swimming pool, two auxiliary buildings and a 26,500-square-foot clubhouse. The clubhouse consists of the Quarry Bar & Grill, an outdoor porch, wrap-around balcony, kitchens, banquet/meeting space and office areas.

Operation Restart helps businesses be "Recovery Ready"
More than 200 businesses in Bryan-College Station have signed the "Recovery Ready" pledge in Operation Restart, signaling that they are committed to following best practices to keep the public and their employees safe. When you see window stickers and signs in front of a business, you can be confident that that are "Recovery Ready."

Public encouraged to continue social distancing as businesses continue to reopen
As various businesses continue to reopen in Texas, members of the public are encouraged to continue practicing social distancing and observing health precautions, such as washing hands and wearing face coverings in public.

Midtown pattern book wins merit award for pattern zoning
The City of Bryan will receive a Merit Award from the Congress for New Urbanism's Charter Awards for the pattern zoning concept in the city's recently adopted Midtown Area Plan . Pattern Zoning is a central concept to the overall plan, which provides flexible options to guide redevelopment in the city's Midtown corridor.

Online registration unavailable on June 1
The City of Bryan's and Lake Bryan's online program registration system will be unavailable on June 1 to allow for upgrades to the system. Anyone with questions about Parks & Recreation reservations or programs should call 979.209.5528. If you have questions about Lake Bryan reservations, please call 979.775.7800.
BTU recognized as Reliable Public Power Provider
BTU was awarded the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Diamond designation by the American Public Power Association for a third consecutive three-year term after scoring 100% on the evaluated criteria.

Help the city understand the impacts of COVID-19
COVID-19 has affected our community in a number of ways, and the City of Bryan would like to hear from business owners about the impacts they have experienced through an online survey.

Answers received from this survey will be used to determine how to best assist community members and businesses with recovery.

New COVID-19 assistance programs available soon
Several new assistance programs will soon be available through the City of Bryan’s Community Development Department to help individuals and businesses with COVID-19 relief. The Bryan City Council approved more than $500,000 in assistance programs at their last meeting.

BCS Library System summer reading starts Monday
“Imagine Your Story” and join the Bryan + College Station Public Library System for its annual Summer Reading Program from June 1 through July 31. This year’s registration, fun programs and activities will all take place online. Participate in fun reading, adventures, writing and drawing contests, crafts and activities for all ages that are sure to make your summer memorable. On June 1, log on

June 6 is National Trails Day , and we encourage you to go out and explore the 24 different trails in Bryan. You can find a map of the city's parks and trails online. Pictured above is a bridge that is part of Austin's Colony Trail.
