October is Green Dot Action Month
A green dot is any choice, behavior, word or attitude that promotes safety for everyone and communicates utter intolerance for power-based personal violence in our Iowa State University community. A green dot is anything you do to make our community safer.

Help us inspire the next generation of girls who love STEM! The WiSE Go Further STEM Career Conference is for 8th-10th grade girls to pursue their passion in STEM. Sign up to volunteer for various jobs throughout each conference day (Oct. 21st and 28th) located in the Memorial Union. The conference would not be possible without our student volunteers!

Learn@Lunch - Ivy College of Business
Lunch is on us! Attend one of two WiSE Learn@Lunch events sponsored by the Ivy College of Business on October 26 and 27. Here at Ivy, we believe the future is female! By combining your technical foundation with valuable business management skills, our concurrent MBA, master of finance (MFIN), and master of information systems (MSIS) programs position you for faster advancement and broader opportunities upon graduation. You’ll get the opportunity to learn about each program from our current students while enjoying a free lunch.
Exam Prep Workshop: Academic Success Center
Wednesday, October 13th
6:30-7:30 PM

This workshop focuses on helping students effectively prepare for an upcoming exam. Participants will learn more about the 5-day study plan, different review and study strategies, and how to structure their study time before an exam. 


Campus Life Affinity Group Spaces
Building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community within Campus Life at Iowa State University for our staff and students is essential and a core goal for Campus Life, Student Affairs, and the University, overall. Campus Life Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in collaboration with partners throughout the University is excited to launch our Affinity Spaces. Affinity groups are formed around a shared identity or common goal to build community among members of minoritized groups and foster inclusion and awareness in the broader university.

YWCA GIRLS Power Mentoring Program
The YWCA GIRLS Power Mentoring Program is looking for mentors for this upcoming school year, beginning on October 3rd. Mentors meet twice a month to discuss and do activities over education presentations, such as women empowerment, leadership, diversity, women in STEM and much more. Outside of meetings, pairs spend additional time each month bonding.

Share Your Adventure at Iowa State - Become a Cyclone Aide
Do you want to get more involved at Iowa State, gain quality leadership experience, and get paid for it? Apply to be a Cyclone Aide!

This leadership position is a fantastic way to show your Cyclone pride to new students, be part of a team, develop leadership skills, and improve public speaking. Each Cyclone Aide is responsible for representing their academic college at New Student Orientation, giving tours of central campus, and providing excellent customer service to new students and their families. The time commitment for this position is a one-year contract from January 2022 -January 2023, including a spring 2022 course for training in the position.
