The WAA is pleased to announce that Michelle Judice will be taking over the role of Executive Director as of March 1, 2021. Michelle will be replacing Kerri Gianazza who successfully completed a three year term as Executive Director. Kerri joined the WAA in January 2018. During her time as the Executive Director she helped to successfully organize several events including the Annual Safety Day which has grown over the years and had its largest turnout yet in 2019. Kerri plans to stay actively involved with the WAA on various committees and she will continue to represent Ross Aviation, a corporate member of the organization.
Michelle Judice began her career in aviation in 2013 at Westchester County Airport as manager of flight operations for Trian Partners. She has also worked in flight operations at Starr in Stratford and most recently at Citigroup on the field. Michelle became a private pilot in 2009 and earned an aircraft dispatch certificate in 2012. Michelle initially had a successful career in finance and worked in trading operations at UBS and treasury operations at GTE Corporation and holds an MBA from The University of Connecticut. Her interest in aviation began in 2007 with a discovery flight at HPN which stemmed from her son's kindergarten science fair project on The Bernoulli Principle which taught them about pressure and the physics of lift. Flight lessons followed and she was hooked, participating in fly-ins and meeting pilots who enthusiastically shared their knowledge. During this time, Michelle couldn't keep her feet on the ground and experienced anything in the sky like paragliding, parasailing, ultralight trike, hot air ballooning and skydiving to name a few. There are a few more challenges on her bucket list and she is excited to be a part of the WAA and represent all members of the aviation community.
