Cornwall Library Newsletter September 2021
I sat at the circulation desk on the morning of August 17th, covering while staff did a Fire Safety Training outside on the front portico. Kurt Hahn, of Cornwall Emergency Management, came to give us the training. It looked like the training went well. Everyone present got to try to put out a fire with a fire extinguisher. The best part was, I got to greet patrons entering the building, play peek-a-boo with a very young patron, help with printing, and check materials out to several patrons!

"Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the American Library Association and libraries unite in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card.

Throughout the school year, public librarians and library staff will assist parents and caregivers with saving hundreds of dollars on educational resources and services for students. From free access to STEAM programs/activities, educational apps, in-person and virtual homework help, technology workshops to the expertise of librarians, a library card is one of the most cost-effective back-to-school supplies available.

How much money can you save? Visit our Library Value Calculator to total your savings."

If you don't already have a library card, stop by to sign up for one, or do so on our website at https://www.cornwallpubliclibrary.org/get-a-library-card/.

Your library card is a very smart card allowing you access to books, music, videos, Hoopla (an online streaming service). After you have one, take a look at what's available by using our online catalog, or coming in to browse.
