Above, a much-anticipated gift to the Custom House arrived on Saturday.

Several years ago, our musician friend, Aymeric Dupré la Tour, suggested the Custom House as home for a remarkable 1812 forte piano. The piano, the gift of Mary G. and Frederick W. Keith, Jr. of Ledyard, required some work, so it has spent time with Kenneth Huebner III, of Huebner Piano Service -- a true piano whisperer. It arrived at the Custom House on Saturday afternoon, and it is remarkable, with a beautiful resonant sound! Thank you, all!

~ Within weeks, we should have information about the possibility of private mini-concerts, at the Custom House, with Aymeric on the forte piano.

It's the Jewish New Year and start of a new season -- and we are ready for it at the Custom House; let's move on!

Our terrific MUSEUM SHOP is now open by appointment. Members always receive a 10% discount.

Plant a garden! We did. It's alongside the Custom House. This is the 2nd season for the Briney Bank border's Japanese anemones, above, which were ordered last year from Brent & Becky's.
We're giving tours to visit inside New London Harbor Lighthouse.

We meet at the lighthouse, then climb 116 steps to the lantern room -- all the while learning about the 260-year history of Harbor Light, one of the oldest lighthouses in the country, and the tallest on Long Island Sound. The views at the top are spectacular!

The visit takes around 45 minutes. Everyone uses hand sanitizer and we all wear masks.

Tours for one small Covid pod of up-to four people may be arranged by emailing [email protected].

Suggested donations are $35 for adults, $30 for NLMS members, & $25 for youth 7-to 18 years old.
This year, we received a $60,000 Good-to-Great grant from the state for work at Harbor Light. Above, the water connection for landscaping was completed last week!

This year, it will be a car parade. The route will be longer than in the past and will go throughout the City of New London. The parade will take place RAIN or SHINE. We're sorry but the Jibboom Club will not take part this time, but we'll be there, cheering from the sidelines.
