15th Sunday in Ordinary Time - July 12, 2020
A Message from our Parish Pastor, Father Phil
Dear Parishioners:
On several occasions earlier this year, I intentionally prepared separate bulletin articles for St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John the Baptist because there were topics to be addressed which pertained mostly to SJB (Road America, the Meitler Study, the School, etc.) and I didn’t want to risk “boring” STA . .
. . . I would like to devote the next couple of weeks to exploring what I see as some of the particular challenges and opportunities that we as SJB and STA will be facing as we emerge from the pandemic.
Mass and Parish Prayer
Congratulations
Gene and Bette Knauer
We wish you a blessed and happy

Parish Finances
Dear St. John the Baptist Parishioners,
March seems so long ago... and we've gone through a lot in the past months. The financial chart is a snapshot of our regular parishioner offerings and offertory for the 2019-20 fiscal year. Not surprisingly, we didn't meet our budget, although we were on track before COVID-19.
However, y our faithful generosity sustains us. As we continue to cope with the uncertainty of the near future, we ask for your continued support. Our parish has weathered many storms in it's 159 years and we will get through this one too, with your help.
With my prayers for your health and well-being.
Faithfully,
Lisa Schoneman, Director of Administrative Services

Safeguarding All God's Family
Looking to volunteer in the future? Need to take a Safe Environment class?
Now is the best time! You can take a virtual class without leaving your home.
St. John the Baptist is committed to maintaining a safe environment in our parish and school. As part of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee’s program for creating a safe environment for all of God’s family, all parish and school employees and volunteers who have contact with children or youth must complete Safe Environment Education prior to volunteering. This includes classroom helpers/aides, field trip and retreat chaperones, catechists/aides, Liturgy of the Word for Children, mission trips, etc. Our parish and school is enhanced by volunteer involvement and our children thrive when their family members are active in the parish and school community.
Meet the Middle School Teaching Staff
Middle School students rotate between teachers in the various academic areas throughout the day. The middle school staff is dedicated to preparing the students for high school and beyond. We are also proud to offer Exploratory classes like culinary arts, drama, and Makerspace (STEM-based).
Angie Wachter Middle School English and Literature
"I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and motivating environment in which they can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their full potential by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk taking, and encourages sharing of ideas."
Dan McMullen - 7th Grade Home Room - Middle School Religion and Science
"I believe that Science is a subject best learned with hands-on activities and lab experiments. I draw from a wide variety of materials and investigations designed for students to experience Science in action. I believe that a relationship with Jesus and understanding the importance of receiving the body & blood of Christ is central to our Catholic Faith.
Joann Otte- 8th Grade Homeroom- Middle School Social Studies
"At the root of who I am as an educator is the belief that every child is a unique individual created in the image and likeness of God. Creating an environment in my classroom that reflects that belief is core to creating a safe learning environment where ideas can be explored."
Jennifer Stielow- 8th Grade Homeroom- Middle School Math and Algebra
"As an educator, my goal is to put students first, make a difference in each of their lives and creatively teach them through hands-on activities. It is my responsibility to educate children to set goals, help them reach their dreams and prepare them for the real-world."
