Busbey Enhancement Campaign
Good afternoon!

We are so grateful for the investment into our beloved Busbey Natatorium by CSU. The renovations were essential for our ability to have a place to train and compete. It is now our turn to give back to the home that has provided so much for generations through the Busbey Enhancement Campaign. We are excited to bring our facility out of the '70s and into the 21'st century through this campaign!

September Shout Out's
Team Bonding & Team Building: Memories made in Washington D.C.
The Vikes took advantage of the long Labor Day Weekend by traveling to Washington D.C. for team bonding, team building, and some fun competition. Racing at American University was an awesome way to kick start the season...the focus was on being loud and getting hands to the wall. We raced in some traditional relays such as the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay, and raced in some men's and women's mixed relays, and finished with a med ball relay and a t-shirt relay. After the meet we went to the National Zoo where the team participated in an all team scavenger hunt in small groups to get to know one another better. Activities included making a tic toc in front of the pandas and pretending to be an elephant in front of the elephants! It was fun to see the team come out of their shells and be silly and goofy. We finished the day at a National's game against the Met's. The next day we had a morning workout at the Lincoln Memorial and practiced yoga in front of the Reflecting Pool. We were all surprised by alumni Bob Pleban who shared a few words of insight and advice. We gave the goal to the team at the beginning of the trip to "come home with a memory with every single person on the team" and we definitley achieved that goal. The team wrapped up the weekend with very intentional team discussions including individual and team goals and values. We came back with a vision and mission, we can't wait to share how our mission pans out this upcoming season!
Enrichment: Confidence Coach Christen
Coach Christen Shefchunas came to Cleveland October 23-24 to work with our Women's Team!

Christen spent Thursday immersed in our program history and the present nature of our Women's Program. Friday Christen gave her "Confidence Talk" and provided our women with an amazing Team Building Activity. Christen will be returning October 10-11 to work 1-on-1 with every single women in our program! We are the first and only college program to provide a confidence coach in a continuous way. If it's good for the Olympians it's good for the Lady Vikes, Right??!!

We will need help funding this experience, if this is something you would like to specifically donate towards, please let me know! We are working on finding a similar opportunity for our men's program!
