First Reading:
As high as the heavens are above the earth,
so high are my ways above your ways and my thoughts above your thoughts. (Is 55:9)
Second Reading:
Brothers and sisters: Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. (Phil 1:20c)
Gospel:
‘Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you?
Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?" Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last.” (Mt 20:14-16a)

A Message from our Parish Pastor, Father Phil
|
|
Dear Parishioners:
Seems to me it’s just about the right time for a Catholic Stewardship Appeal
up-date! You may recall that both of our parishes performed fantastically in the 2019 Catholic Stewardship Appeal [CSA], both in terms of total giving and in percentage of parishioner participation.

Flannery O’Connor is quite possibly America’s most beloved and powerful Catholic writer. Her haunting – yet beautiful – prose has for decades invited readers to encounter anew the grace of God that enters into human brokenness. Now, you’re invited to join “Stories of Grace,” a reading group that will gather throughout the month of October to explore some of O’Connor’s short stories! We will meet on Thursday mornings (October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29) from 8:45-9:45 am in the Church Meeting Room. Space is very limited! Please register by Monday, September 28 at noon.

Message from the Principal, Mrs. Amy Nelson
The reopening of school has taken much time and effort. The planning team and the entire staff have worked hard to implement many changes and accommodations. I am impressed by how dedicated the staff has been in providing a quality Faith-filled education to our students while continuing to follow new safety precautions and meet the social emotional needs of our students. It is such a pleasure to see the students excited about learning! It is such a blessing to work together as a team during these unprecedented times and to be a special part of the St. John the Baptist School family.

Soles for Catholic Education Walk
St. John the Baptist School is "walking" with more than 100 schools throughout the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. All money raised will be used to help meet our fundraising goal. That's right - every dollar raised by our team will stay with our school! We hope you will support our efforts by making a secure online donation and walking with us on October 17th!
|
|
The Soles Walk started in 2013 as a way for Archdiocese of Milwaukee parishes and schools to come together in one location and celebrate Catholic education, build community and raise funds that remain at each school.

Church Offerings
St. John the Baptist has always had a strong history of stewardship, and we have been blessed by the generosity of our parishioners in both easy and difficult times. With that in mind, please prayerfully reflect on your ability to share your financial gifts with our parish.
Please know that we rely entirely on your generous donations to continue operating and providing the ministry to serve the Lord and our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are most grateful for your continued support. Thank you!
