The Perinatal Advisory Council (PAC) met on October 6. The PAC's Placenta Accreta Syndrome Disorder subcommittee presented proposed changes to the maternal levels of care designation rule language as it relates to House Bill (HB) 1164 from the 87th Regular Legislative Session that is regarding safety practices for placenta accreta spectrum disorder.

Texas Perinatal Services solicited feedback from stakeholders in September regarding these recommendations and share those with the PAC subcommittee for review.

The next PAC meeting will be on December 1 at 9:00 a.m. Central via Microsoft Teams.
November is Prematurity Awareness Month
November is Prematurity Awareness Month and November 17 is World Prematurity Day. These tiny newborns receive care in our neonatal intensive care units (NICU) across Texas. Every year, 1 in 10 babies in the United States are born preterm.

The March of Dimes offers helpful resources to use during the month of November.
