State of Arkansas
Gov. Asa Hutchinson gave his daily COVID-19 update from Jonesboro this afternoon. He commended the city for dealing with two simultaneous disasters: the pandemic and a devastating tornado that hit in March.   
 
Hutchinson said that Arkansas tested more than 4,000 people in the last 24 hours. He said with the testing, Arkansas is at a 1.9 percent positivity rate for the virus. 
 
Of the 6,277 cases, 1,733 are active. Of those active cases, 68 are in nursing homes, 466 in correctional facilities and 1,199 are in the community. Arkansas is near its record high for COVID-19 hospitalizations at 108 people hospitalized and 22 on ventilatorss. So far, 120 people have died in the state.

A statewide map is available that shows national, state and county numbers in regards to COVID-19. As of May 27 at 2:30 p.m., the United States deaths attributed to COVID-19 are 101,000.

Saline & Garland Counties 
As of Wednesday, 100 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Saline County and 3,124 have tested negative. Of those testing positive, 78 have recovered. The total number of people who have died in Saline County remains at one.
 
In Garland County, 134 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 3,771 have tested negative. Of the people infected, 128 have recovered and one has died.      
 
Entergy begins chipping brush 
Entergy will begin chipping removed limbs and brush today along the side of Barcelona Road between Castano Drive and Mandarina Way. This is the clean-up part of Entergy's vegetation management process which clears power lines of tree limbs that could be problematic during a storm.   
 
COVID-19 testing available this week
The Healthy Connections Free Covid-19 Testing Pop-up tour will set up in Hot Spring and Garland counties this week.
 
The drive-through testing, which is available to anyone over 18-years-old, regardless of symptoms, will be offered each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with no appointment necessary. Testing at the pop-up sites is at no cost to patients and insurance information is not collected.
 
The testing will be at the following locations:
  • Thursday, May 28 - 3604 Central Avenue, Hot Springs (Healthy Connections clinic parking lot).
  • Friday, May 29 - 121 Cordoba Center Drive, Hot Springs Village (Century 21 parking lot).
