Roslyn Public Schools
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
July 8, 2020

Dear Roslyn Families,

Today the Governor announced the State will provide re-opening guidelines for schools by July 13 th , and districts will need to submit their re-opening plans to the State by July 31 st .  The Governor also stated that the decision as to whether schools can re-open for the fall semester in any form will be made between August 1 st and August 7 th .

Although it is still our preference for all students, teachers and staff members to come to school every day, health and safety concerns are first and foremost in all the decisions we make and will be making going forward.  Due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still actively working on and fine-tuning the three models for re-opening:
  • A full return to a regular school schedule
  • Remote learning that follows the daily school schedule for all students
  • A hybrid of the first two options

The situation with the coronavirus is very fluid, and whatever the circumstances dictate or the State ultimately decides as far as how we will begin our school year, our district will be prepared.  In the meantime, I urge everyone to continue to practice social distancing and to follow the guidelines of our State and local health officials.

Sincerely,

Allison Brown
