The Canonization of St. Catherine Labouré ~ in Fr. Skelly's Words

In July 1947, St. Catherine Labouré was declared a saint by Pope Pius XII. Fr. Joseph Skelly, CM, was in Rome and wrote about his experience for the December 1947 issue of the Miraculous Medal Magazine. Not only did he meet the Pope, he met the (future) Pope Paul VI. Read his personal reflection about this blessed event.

We need Mary.

Help keep #MaryAlive! at The Miraculous Medal Shrine—a place for peaceful, silent prayer—where Mary’s comfort and love are experienced: in her Miraculous Medal that we send to people throughout the world; in faith programs that renew the devotion of youth and young adults; and in the ministries of the Vincentians of the Eastern Province, who serve the poor, homeless, and marginalized.
Check our website to discover all the ways your donations keep MARYALIVE! in the people who visit her every year, in person and virtually.
Under Mary's Mantle

Join us at the Shrine on the first Wednesday of every month to delve into the beauty of our Catholic faith and help build a solid Catholic foundation for our preschool children (ages 3 to 5). Each month we'll focus on a particular topic and provide fun activities for kids and their parents or guardians. If you have any questions, contact Carolina Nemo.

How can your family prepare for the coming of Jesus this Advent Season? In our November gathering, you and your preschooler(s) will learn about the four themes of Advent: Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy—and will make a child-friendly Advent Wreath to bring home. Don’t miss this opportunity to embrace our Catholic traditions that will help make the Advent season memorable.

St. Catherine Labouré: The Silent Saint Who Secretly Changed the World
Virtual Speaker Series

Dates: Fridays in November, beginning November 5, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. (ET)

St. Catherine Labouré answered her vocation by entering the community of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in Rue de Bac, Paris. Soon, she was graced by our Blessed Mother who tasked her with the mission of having the Miraculous Medal made. Following Our Lady’s instruction, St. Catherine conveyed Mary’s request to create the Miraculous Medal now worn by millions of people around the world. Not much is known about this Silent Saint and her impact on the world. Join us for a special four-part series entering the life of a saint who secretly changed the world.

Join us on November 6 as we journey to discover the "blockages" that prevent us from developing our own intimacy with God. We will explore how our spiritual ancestors struggled with their own disordered attachments and unruly desires. Then, using prayer, small group reflection, and Lectio Divina, we will reflect upon our personal spiritual journeys and identify things in our lives that might distance us from God’s abundant grace.

This Holy Hour will bring you closer to Mary and her Son and prepares you for the feast days of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal (11/27) and St. Catherine Labouré (11/28).

Can’t make it on November 11? You can still join us virtually on Thursday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. (ET) via The Miraculous Medal Shrine Facebook page. Contact Carolina Nemo with questions or prayer intentions to be placed at the foot of Mary’s altar.

Transform someone’s life this Christmas with the gift of daily Masses and prayers for an entire year. Your loved ones will receive 365 days of the most powerful prayer on earth beginning on Christmas: the Holy Mass combined with the prayers of the Vincentians and Members of Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family. Give the gift of peace and transformation to your friends and family this year.
