The Girls Academy is a national league that was created in 2020. It is the only national platform to provide its sole focus on female players. The Girls Academy League provides the highest level of play with 70+ of the most distinguished soccer clubs in the country competing across 7 conferences. Empire United Girls Academy will begin competing in the Northeast Conference in the fall of 2021. 

US Youth Soccer (USYS) is pleased to announce the USYS Champions Cup. This tournament will serve as a truly global invitational event, where all invited teams are welcomed on equal footing, regardless of registration provider, membership status, or carding entity. Selections will be made based on performance in Championship caliber events from around the world.

USYS is changing the culture of youth sport by providing the entire soccer community with an open

opportunity to stake their claim as a true international youth soccer champion. Combining marquee

teams, talented youth players, and referees from around the world, the USYS Champions Cup is a way to

build long lasting friendships and memories across many nationalities and cultures.

US Youth Soccer (USYS) is pleased to announce their partnership with Truclusion, an experienced team of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) consultants who support organizations on their journey toward higher inclusivity across social networks, genders, ethnicities, orientations, generations and religions.

Truclusion is a Women-of-Color-owned business and operates with consultants and facilitators that reflect many diverse identities and experiences. Their approach to DE&I leverages human-centered inclusive design, intentionalism, and equity.

By sharing the short survey with your players under 18 years of age, they will have an opportunity to join children across the world in sharing their views on how the pandemic has affected their engagement in sport. The results of the survey will be reported globally. 

The survey’s target audience is children involved in sport, either through elite teams or grassroots sport. The aim is to reach a broad range of children, of all backgrounds, including professional athletes, members of school teams, those living in both urban and rural settings, and those with disabilities. 

As a coach right now, it can be challenging to think about anything other than dealing with severely restricted practices and competitions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Without a normal sports environment, it might also be hard to see how athletes can learn and practice the values learned through sport, including sportsmanship.

However, there are a few ways you can help your team learn and grow without a scoreboard or a stadium. Here are a few easy ways to focus on sportsmanship despite the pandemic.
