Paul’s Missonary Journeys - Vicar Myron Harms
In this study we will explore Paul’s efforts to spread the message of the Gospel to all the ends of the earth. We will also see how the challenges of Paul’s missionary journeys can help us in exploring our own opportunities to tell others about the Savior as well.
The “I AMs” of Jesus - Pastor Mark Muenchow
This summer, Pastor Mark will be leading a study called on the “I AMs” of Jesus. This Bible study will parallel the 7 “I AMs” from John that he will be preaching on through August 2nd.
Weekday Bible Class Opportunities
Thursday Evening Bible Class - Paul’s Missionary Journeys - Thurdays 7pm - Oak Room (20E)
Starting June 18th, the Thursday evening Bible class is doing an exploration of Paul’s Missionary Journeys or PMJ. In this study we will explore Paul’s efforts to spread the message of the Gospel to all the ends of the earth. All are welcome to join us.
Senior Adult VBS 2020 - Men Who Changed the World - Thursdays July 9, 16, 23 & 30
The Stories of the 12 Disciples - We will use the last 4 Thursday mornings in July to take a look at the 12 men Jesus called to follow Him. We will meet from 9:30am - 11:30am in the South Pod as we explore who these men were and what happened to each one. We will also see how we are His disciples, too and take a look at what He is asking us to do as His followers today. For more information, contact Myron in the church office.

Messiah is in need of additional offering counters. Offerings are counted immediately after late worship and takes about 45 minutes. Each team rotates and serves every 4 months. Substitutes are available if needed. If you are interested, contact Jack Brown, Fin. Secretary.
Our quilting ministry, an extension of LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) makes quilts for distribution all over the world by Lutheran World Relief. New members, with or without experience, are always welcome. Sewing is not required. If you can tie knots, we need you. The quilters meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9:00am-11:30am. Contact Jan for info.

Mark Your Calendars - Lutheran World Relief Statewide Ingathering
Tuesday, October 6 9am-12noon at Messiah Lutheran Church - East Parking Lot
Trucks will be loaded. Volunteers will be needed as Lutherans from all over Oklahoma come to Messiah with their donated goods ready to be delivered. As recommended by LWR we will follow the appropriate guidelines for social distancing at that time. Specific info will be shared when available. For questions or info, contact Kelly Baker.

Other Actions:
The Constitution and By-Laws changes related to reducing the number of mandatory voter’s meeting to two per year (Annual meeting in November and Elections meeting in May) was approved as well as removing the Stewardship Chair positon and putting those functions under the Membership Chair. We had a first reading of the updated proposed changes to combine the Family Ministry Chair position/function into the Education Chair position. The second reading will be at the Nov. 15th, 2020 voter’s meeting. To help keep the congregation informed on ministry updates the monthly Council packets with be send out to the congregation at well. Also approved $10,000 in mission gifts to various recommended entities.
Pastor Henschel - Celebrating 60 Years of Ordination - Sunday, July 26
At worship on this Sunday, we will have a prayer of thanksgiving for Pr Henschel and a display of photos to celebrate his 60 blessed years. Cards will also be collected and can be mailed, if needed. Contact Pastor Mark for more information.
It’s a Card Shower! Celebrate and honor Val Reed’s 100th Birthday! - July 31 Deadline
Val’s actual birthday is August 7. Have your card for Val be mailed or dropped off at Messiah by Friday, July 31. These cards will be taken to her Birthday Celebration that her family is planning.
