Talking With Mrs. Tompkins
We have just completed our fourth week and we are proud to report that students have earned another Freedom Friday Dress Down Day. We continue to marvel at the support we are receiving from parents and are extremely grateful for it. Please have your student refer to page 53 of the School Handbook for the Dress Down Day Dress Code Policy.

We were blessed this week with an outpouring of generosity for our hard-working faculty. A number of Squire business owners and alumni donated gift certificates, goody bags and flowers for a faculty appreciation giveaway. We surprised 10 lucky faculty members with thoughtful gifts and certificates for meals and personal services. Many thanks to these generous alumni and parents:

Persona Day Spa (Owner Monica Brady P '22) - Massage gift certificate
Littlestown AutoCare (Owner, Mr. Jack and Mary (Redding) Kale, '77, P '99, P'02, '08)- Two $25 Gift Cards
Salon Traforo (Owner Stephanie Kindig, '99, P '18) - Free Hair Cut
Brother's Pizza, McSherrystown (Owners Mr. and Mrs. Scamardella, P'21, '21, '24) $50 Gift Certificate
Mary Kay Gift Bag for Him
Mary Kay Gift Bag fo Her - Both from Mrs. Christine (Dettinburn) Smith, '89, P '13, P'18
Cremer Florist (Mrs. Amy Gingrich, P '23)
Bay City (Ms. Christy Colgan, P '15, P '19)
Jerry & Sal's (Armando '87 and Christina (DeMaria) '89 Malvone, P '15, P '19

On Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stefano, owners of Chick-Fil-A in Hanover, treated the entire staff to a boxed lunch. These acts of kindness truly brighten our day!

Please continue to pray for our students, teachers, administration and staff. It seems that every day brings new challenges and new triumphs. We work diligently to uphold the safety and integrity of our health and safety policies so that we may continue to provide students with a high quality education and steadfast morale values that will carry them well beyond Delone Catholic High School.

In closing, I leave you with this Bible verse that I found inspiring: Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (James 1:2-3)

May God Bless You,

Donna Tompkins

Calling All Parent Photograpers
The Delone Catholic Yearbook, The Delonian, needs your help! After many years of service, our long-time school photographer David McFarland retired this spring. We have now hired a new photographer, but she will not be in the school, or at school events, as often as Mr. McFarland was.
We are asking parents who are at sporting events, extracurricular activities or any school-related functions to take photos, especially candid shots and send them to Delone Catholic Yearbook. (dchsyearbook@delonecatholic.org).

All submissions are welcomed, but please know that not all submissions will be used. All photos will be reviewed by Delone Catholic staff for appropriateness and to confirm that all students in the photos have signed photo permission forms.

Photos may also be used on social media, in print publication and for other school purposes.
If you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Lauren Gross, Director of Strategic Communications, at lgross@delonecatholic.org, or Mr. John Fournie, Publications teacher, at jfournie@delonecatholic.org.

SportsLeader Virtue of the Week
One pillar of the SportsLeader program is a weekly virtue that we incorporate into our athletic practices and throughout our school community. Every week, we will share them here to encourage the students to take the virtue into their homes as well!

Our virtue this week is ASSERTIVENESS - the strength to be characterized by bold and confident action. Being a leader in any field of life requires some assertiveness. You have to step up and make things happen, not wait around for everyone else to get the job done. You have to want it for yourself and for your family, your team, your community. This week, practice assertiveness by doing something good that needs to be done without being asked to do it.
