Because Certain Presbyterians Love to Show Up in Zoom Rooms
Note that a certain General Presbyter is on the top row, second to left, is eliciting hand waving, like she would do if she were in the room on a Sunday.

Rethinking Evangelism Event by Montreat
Montreat Conference Center is partnering with Theology, Formation & Evangelism in the Presbyterian Mission Agency to offer an opportunity to Rethink Evangelism in October of 2020.

This three-day virtual event will be designed for church leaders and congregational members to reconsider what effective evangelism might look like in their particular neighborhoods and communities. We will intentionally seek the wisdom of 1,001 New Worshiping Communities as well as congregations working in the Vital Congregations initiative as we create an interactive platform for sharing the practices and lifestyles, individual and corporate, that allow people to effectively share the good news.
In June, Mission Presbytery voted unanimously to become a Matthew 25 Presbytery. This initiative has three emphases: building congregational vitality, dismantling systemic racism, and eradicating systemic poverty. Many of our individual congregations have also declared themselves to be Matthew 25 congregations. You and/or your congregation can choose one, two or all three of these emphases for your work. And if you're one of our "Vital Congregations" in Mission Presbytery, you're already doing the first one! Here are some resources to support your Matthew 25 work and study.

New Matthew 25 Bible Study
Matthew 25 Bible Study - The Gospel and Inclusivity: We live into the Matthew 25 vision by engaging together in the three works of vitalizing our congregations, dismantling structural racism and eradicating poverty.
Course: Underpinnings of Systemic Poverty
This course offers a basic overview of the implications of political and economic systems that enforce structures of poverty.

New! Matthew 25 Hymn Available
A beautiful hymn written by David Gambrell, titled "Jesus, Be with Us," is available to all. This hymn was inspired by the Matthew 25 vision with the music arranged and vocal recording by Phillip Morgan.
Matthew 25 Yard Signs
We have designed yard signs for churches to share their commitment to be actively engaged in the world with their communities. You can download the designs and have them printed at a local shop. They are available in English, Spanish and Korean.
Sallie's Ponderings

Don’t bypass the spiritual work necessary to hone your gift, whether you want to be a Rockette or a backup singer or a welder or a cook. So saith Sallie. And 1 Peter 4.
