At the studio
Too close for comfort
Our bisqueware shelves are packed. If you have bisqueware from April on our shelves, please come glaze it for firing or collect it and take it home by May 31 . Any unclaimed bisqueware remaining after that date will be discarded.
Studio housekeeping
When you are cleaning up after yourself at the studio, it's easy to overlook the humble ware board . Please make sure you clean all clay off the wood and drywall ware boards when you finish using them. Help keep our studio clean and healthy by washing clay from every surface, including ware boards, before it has a chance to dry and go airborne.
Ready, load, fire
We're planning an early May gas kiln firing. But we have one contingency: we need enough pieces to fill up the kiln right away! So, if you have pieces to glaze and want to get in on this firing, come to the studio and glaze now.

Loading : Wednesday, May 8
Firing : Friday, May 10

Be sure to check with the studio for the latest gas kiln firing schedule.
Where's Tool Time?
Tool Time will be working at the In the Garden show this month. See our June issue for Tool Time's next appearance. Meanwhile, be sure to take a look at our tool shop when you visit the show. We have a BIG selection in our small shop and we're open six days a week during gallery hours.

I f you have topics you'd like Kay to cover in her free Tool Time demonstrations, please let us know . We're interested in hearing from you.

Two cool cats
Two cool cats
Meet Tiggalo and Tigs , besties who enjoy spending time together gazing out the window. Tiggalo, on the left, was made from studio mix clay by Yourist student Sebastian Buczek and stands about one foot high. Companion Tigs, on the right, is made from fur and tuna and sits about 16 inches high. I hear that the Buczek's other cat is not so sure about Tiggalo yet.

Thanks to Sebastian and Lisa Buczek for this item.
Potter's quick tip
Q. I'm always on the lookout for new handle-making ideas and tips. Got any suggestions for me?

A . How about a video from Ceramic Arts Network showing how potter Josh DeWeese adds a little "whoopty-do" to his cups by pulling a "gooseneck" handle off the pot? You can admire a variety of pieces by Josh DeWeese here .
