Rangeland Inventory Technician
- Seeking one rangeland ecologist for potential contract work in Wyoming conducting a rangeland assessment per 17 Indicators of Rangeland Health methodology.
- Successful applicants will have education and applied experience in plant taxonomy, rangeland ecology, sampling and basic soil science. Applicants should be acquainted with rangeland species, noxious weeds and able to identify most plants with dichotomous keys.
- Fieldwork will involve long days in all types of weather an in remote areas. Applicants must be physically fit, responsible and capable of working in a team of 3.
- Rangeland ecologist will also be responsible for data entry, quality assurance and quality control measures. Applicants must be responsible, motivated, dedicated and dependable.
- Compensation will include an hourly or daily rate commensurate with experience, online training and per diem.
- Anticipated project duration is 1 to 3 weeks, we may have some flexibility in sampling dates.
- Our organization is interested in candidates who are creative and passionate about resource conservation, possess a positive disposition, are comfortable working long hours in the field, and are willing to travel.
