Week of April 29th, 2019
Baseball
Baseball hosted crosstown rival Spring-Ford on Tuesday. After a scoreless 5 innings the Panthers couldn't hold off the Rams offensive attack and lost to Spring-Ford 7-0. Tyler Petery '20 had the lone hit for the Panthers. The team was back at home on Wednesday against Owen J. Roberts. John A. Wagner '19 had two hits including a solo home run, but it was not enough to keep the Panthers alive. PJP lost the game 11-1.  CJ McCafferty '19 went 3 for 3 on the day.

Softball
Softball traveled to Owen J. Roberts on Wednesday for the PAC crossover match up. The Wildcats outscored the Panthers 12-1. Grace Harvey '19 went 2-2 on the day and scored the teams only run.

Boys Tennis
Tommy Rutkowski '21 competed in the District 1 AA Singles Tournament on Friday, April 26th. Rutkowski lost to the eventual Champion from Dock Mennonite Academy 6-0, 6-2. Team members will be competing in the PAC doubles tournament this Friday and hope to qualify a team into the District 1 AA doubles tournament.

Girls Lacrosse
Girls lacrosse hosted Spring-Ford on Wednesday. The Panthers led at halftime but could not carry the momentum into the second half and lost 16-13. Kallan Bustynowicz '21 led he scoring for PJP with 6 goals. Julia McLaughin '20 , Caroline Slattery '19 , and Julie Cherneskie '19 all added 2 goals a piece. Grace Drewicz '21 was impressive in goal with 14 saves. The girls were back at it on Thursday this time hosting Pottsgrove . Despite another fantastic showing by Kallan Buystnowicz '21 (5 goals, 2 assists) the Panthers lost the PAC Divisional match up 15-12. Julia McLaughlin '20 added 3 goals while Rory Nielson '21 added 2 goals.

Boys Lacrosse
Boys Lacrosse had two games last week. The Panthers hosted Springfield Township on Wednesday and traveled to Interboro on Thursday. Both games ended in loses for the Panthers.

Track and Field
The track and field team took a break from regular season competition this week due to Penn Relays. The girls 4X100 and girls 4X400 competed at the Penn Relays on Thursday, while the boys 4x100 team competed Friday and the 4x400 competed Saturday. The freshman and sophomores had a chance to shine at the Falcon 9th and 10th grade invitational on Saturday at Pottsgrove. The teams are back on their home track on Wednesday to complete the regular season. The girls look to remain undefeated if they can get the win over Upper Merion.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
John A. Wagner, Senior
Baseball
Wagner, a three year varsity player, knocked in 3 runs including a solo home run last week in the game vs Owen J Roberts. Despite a challenging PAC schedule, the team sits in 2nd place in the 4A district bracket and has their sights set on hosting in the first round.
