The safer we can be the better we can protect our local economy that is continuing to emerge from the shutdown caused by the pandemic.
We encourage everyone to wear masks and social distance when in public. We do NOT want to go backward. Read

Get Fit at Home This Summer!
As a way to make sure our community is staying active and healthy this summer, Independent Health has once again teamed up with the YMCA to offer free fitness classes. However, this year, we’ve gone virtual with “Fitness in the Parks: Home Edition!”
Through Facebook Live, a series of virtual fitness classes led by YMCA certified instructors are currently being held every week through September 12. Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, this allows Western New Yorkers of all ages and skill levels to participate from the safety and comfort of their own home. Classes include:
- Boot Camp – Join us for this challenging yet enjoyable workout that focuses on speed, endurance, agility, strength, power moves and cardiovascular training.
- Fusion – Get an entire-body workout in one class with 15 minutes of high/low aerobics, 15 minutes of body conditioning, and 15 minutes of abdominal work.
- Yoga – Enjoy gentle, effective postures that promote stretching, strengthening and relaxation. Benefits include increased blood circulation, improved mental awareness, strengthened muscles and reduced stress! We recommend bringing your own yoga mat.
- Cardio Kick – These classes are combinations of strength training and aerobic workouts. You will get a great strength workout as well as an intense cardio workout in the same class.
- Kickboxing – A great way to relieve stress and tension, this aerobic-based class combines martial arts, boxing, aerobic exercises, and strengthening exercises to increase flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination. Learn the proper way to kick and punch in a safe, non-contact environment.
