Right now, millions of people in Texas do not have access to abortion and other states are already gearing up to follow Texas’ lead. The Supreme Court is also set to hear a case this term that could overturn Roe v. Wade, essentially banning abortion in 22 states overnight.

Introducing 73Forward: the largest proactive, faith-based mobilization effort focused on increasing abortion access. Join us

In Judaism, we recognize abortion as essential health care, that is not only permitted by our tradition, but required when the life of the pregnant person is at stake. For too long, we have allowed a small but loud group from the religious right to dominate the narrative. It is time we reclaim it — to bring the Jewish voice into the public conversation and the work of making abortion accessible to all.

73Forward is that voice. NCJW’s mission: to deliver education, advocacy, and community-based service to help affect real change in the lives of women, children, and families, as well as any trans men, nonbinary or gender nonconforming people who also may need abortion care.

This work ranges from conversations with friends and family about Judaism and abortion to passing the Women's Health Protection Act to removing legislative and regulatory roadblocks to abortion access, particularly medication abortion, while keeping those most impacted — Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), women, and those working to make ends meet — front and center.

NCJW is proud to lead this charge in the Jewish community. Join our virtual campaign launch on Wednesday, October 27, 4 pm PT to find out more about how you can help us make a difference. Register today!
