NEHS DUES
Deadline for all members of the National English Honor Society to pay your dues through Pen's website is TODAY.
 
SCIENCE AND MATH ENTHUSIASTS
If you are interested in math, science or technology, be sure to attend the virtual informational meeting for the Science Bowl, Technology Student Association, and Ocean Bowl TODAY at 4:00 pm. This meeting will include all three areas of interest. To join, please click here.
 
YEARBOOK PICK UP/LATE SALES
Yearbooks will now be available for pickup TOMORROW, Sept. 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 or until the supply runs out. Drive by the front of the gym to pick up your yearbook and be sure to have your name printed on a sheet of paper on the passenger side of the car. If you still need to purchase a yearbook, there are some available for sale. Remember, it's exact change cash only and the price is $140.
 
LAST CHANCE FOR NHS
If you are a junior or senior with a 3.65 GPA or higher or had a recent grade change that now makes you eligible, there is only one remaining opportunity to attend the make-up, mandatory National Honor Society information meeting TOMORROW, Sept. 16 at 12:05 pm on TEAMS. You must attend the meeting to be eligible to submit a Candidate Information packet for consideration. Contact Mrs. Borstel at [email protected] with questions or to secure your spot.
 
NSSHS
Applications to Pen's National Social Science Honor Society are open now through Saturday, Sept. 19. Fill out the application here and email to [email protected].
 
SNHS (SOCIEDAD HONORARIA HISPANICA)
Attention sophomores, juniors and seniors currently enrolled in Spanish 4, AP Spanish Language, Spanish 5 or AP Spanish Literature, the mandatory new member information meeting for the Spanish National Honor Society is on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 12:15 pm via TEAMS. If you do not attend, you will not be able to apply. In order to attend, you must submit the registration form before midnight on Monday, Sept. 21. The registration form is available by clicking here. To be eligible, prospective members must have completed at least three high school credit semesters of Spanish with a 3.5 overall unweighted grade average and no C's; an unweighted overall GPA of 3.4 or above and no U's in citizenship. MU ALPHA THETA
All returning members must submit their returning member contract and returning member grade verification form to "Mu Alpha Theta Members" on TEAMS as one PDF by Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 2:00 pm. Email [email protected] with questions.
 
SAT SEPTEMBER TEST
PV High will not be a SAT testing site in September. Students and families who signed up for that testing date will be notified directly by email from the College Board of the closure.
 
COLLEGE CAREER CENTER
NAVIANCE
Students should access their Naviance account through their student SSO Portal. Directions to access the student portal are here. If you request a password change, you will be directed to your student portal.
 
VIRTUAL COLLEGE REP VISITS
The CCC has scheduled virtual college visits through November. Two to three schools will be combined per visit and all meetings are in conjunction with PVHS. You must register on Naviance by 3:00 pm the before the event in order to attend. Teacher permission for visits scheduled during class time must be obtained by the Friday before the visit. Included in this week's visits are Macalester; Carleton; University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; Muhlenberg; Northeastern; Belmont; University of Oklahoma; Oregon State University; Emory; University of Georgia; Georgia Institute of Tech; Miami University, Oxford; University of New Hampshire; and University of Vermont. COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE SERIES NO. 3
The virtual knowledge series continues TOMORROW, Sept. 16 at 6:30 pm with students and parents participating in a virtual mock admissions event in the COVID-19 era called Case Study: Admissions in the Test Optional World. Participants need to prepare in advance by reading a university profile and three sample college admissions applications. A link will be sent to these resources upon registration.
