On Oct 2 and Oct 12, your vestry was hard at work during the two sessions of their zoom Planning Retreat. The groups grounded themselves with Bible study and spiritual reflection each time. They then broke up into three groups, to consider the three main parts of our campus: our church, our school, and our thrift store and community center. What efforts will most help us work together well? What purchases or programming will assist us in serving our community better?
On October 2, teams brainstormed ideas; on October 12, they refined them and held discussion amongst the whole vestry. They will add more detail and then share their plans with the community. The new vestry, which will be seated in February, 2020, will take up where our current vestry leaves off (at our Annual Meeting on January 31). If you have thoughts or questions as this process continues, please be in touch with any member of our vestry. Mahalo to our lay leaders for their faithfulness and commitment to this work!

Aloha!
As part of the Diocesan Creation Care and Environmental Justice team, I have been meeting regularly with others across the diocese to pray about and act on the call to care for God's creation
(Genesis 1:28).
Our team decided that we wanted to know more about what is happening around the diocese in our church communities and in the neighborhoods where we worship and work. We created a survey that has been sent to all of the churches to be shared with all members. Please take a minute to complete the survey - it's brief and it will help us as we try to share information with each other and consider ways that we are being caretakers of God's good world.
During the Schools Fall break we installed two Back Flow devices with cages. The Back Flow devices are needed to prevent contaminants from entering the Main Water supply line! A big Mahalo to SKYE for organizing
and making this important repair possible!
November 7th is All Saint's Day Sunday.
" May their memory be a blessing"
Please contact the office with the names of your dearly departed, so that we may include them for All Saint's Day remembrances.
