Thank you to all of those that completed our “Return to *indoor* worship” survey. We received many responses, and we appreciate your support as we navigate through the uncharted waters of these times.
Based upon those survey results, and taking into account applicable restrictions as well as anticipated volunteer availability, we have an update for you on our worship plans.
First, thank you for joining us for outdoor worship this summer. Holding worship in God’s creation has been a true blessing for our congregation! We are especially grateful to Franklin Church for letting us use their church grounds during this time. All of this was made even better by having the ability to live stream these outdoor services so that all could participate in worship. Praise God for the gift of technology!
Beginning Sunday, September 27, we will return to the New Albany Middle School for ONE service at 10:00am. For now, we will have one single worship service each Sunday, which will be similar in style to the outdoor services from this summer. The decision to begin with only one worship service each Sunday was based on the survey results while taking into account our anticipated volunteer numbers. We will continue to live stream each worship service as well on the same platforms.
In addition, we will have Nursery/Toddler and our JAM! (Jesus and Me) Sunday school classes every Sunday, but these will now be held for the entire duration of the worship service. Children ages birth through 6th grade may take part in this wonderful program and will be checked into their classrooms upon arrival. There will be no children’s dismissal during the worship service so as to avoid hallway congestion and traffic flow problems. Parents may also keep their children with them during the worship service if they so choose.
More detailed information will be coming soon. Please pray for our staff and volunteers as we plan our return to indoor worship. May we all work together so that God will be glorified and we will see more lives changed by Jesus Christ!
