Your weekly news and updates

Dear Residents -
Welcome to the long weekend. With Valentine's Day and President's Day being back to back, it should be twice as much fun. An important reminder, Town Hall will be closed on Monday, February 15th for President's Day.
We just finished another week with a few snow-makers and, unfortunately, last week Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow - meaning we are in for six more weeks of winter. Sadly, with the weathermen predicting more snow next week, it looks like he may be right. Hang in there, spring is only five weeks away!
Moving on to more serious business, if you are a dog owner that would like to see a dog park in Orangetown, please be sure to respond to our petition and help us improve our chances of obtaining grant funding.
Lastly, Toll Brothers has petitioned the Town for a zone change to a ten acre property on Gatto Lane in Pearl River. The petition seeks 40, age restricted (55 and over) townhomes and can be viewed on the Town website. If you are interested in getting updates about this Petition, please e-mail your contact information to Supervisor@Orangetown.com and we will provide you e-mail updates.
Please continue to share all the great events going on around Orangetown and I will continue to include them in the newsletter.
Happy Valentine's Day and Happy President's Day!
Respectfully,
|

THANK YOU ORANGETOWN!
I am so proud of Orangetown. When asked, even with only 5 days notice, you answered the call. Because of all of you, we were able to gather over 1,700 articles of clothing for those in need. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Our donation would not be possible without our most generous residents!

At this week’s Town Board meeting, I had the pleasure of honoring two of my favorite people, Dr. Frances Pratt and Ms. Tracie McLee. The Town Board presented a certificate to Dr. Pratt in recognition of her retirement after 40 years as President of the Nyack NAACP, and one to Tracie McLee as part of our Black History Celebration and in recognition of her remarkable achievements in the world of philanthropy and beyond.
I want to thank both of them for attending the meeting in-person despite the fact that, due to COVID, we were not able to have the crowded room that they both rightfully deserve. While my comments are too long to post, I invite you all to watch the presentation at YouTube.
