Are Owner-Mandated Vaccines Affecting Your Business?
As part of President Biden's "Path Out of the Pandemic" Plan, there is a November 1st deadline for complying with vaccine mandates. In the state of Michigan, many businesses are requiring contractors to provide vaccination status of workers prior to being allowed on a job site.

Some CAM members have expressed concern about mandated vaccines and their impact on the ability to execute projects, especially those that were bid in advance of this new requirement. We are seeking your feedback to evaluate the impact on the industry.

SPARK Business Works Discusses Trends in Technology and How It's Impacting Construction

Episode #5 of the Construction Association of Michigan’s “Building Michigan” podcast series features Bob Armbrister, President and CEO of SPARK Business Works, and Brad Wilson, Vice President and Director of Marketing for SPARK. Together with CAM President Kevin Koehler, they discuss the ways in which the pandemic accelerated the construction industry's adoption of technology and how that is impacting everyone's bottom line. CAM Staff Is Moving and Shaking
The Construction Association of Michigan is thrilled to announce some recent changes to the CAM Staff. Tracey Alfonsi, formerly the Director of Member Services, has been promoted to Vice President of Operations. 

Recently joining the CAM team, we’re pleased to welcome Jacob Smoger as our new Controller and Cathy Jones as our new Manager of Sales and Marketing. Within the last year, CAM also hired new Graphics Designer Tim Andrews and two Newsroom staffers, Susan Ahrenhold and Grace Auten. CLICK HERE for a full list of CAM staff.
Don't Forget! Review & Return Your Buyers Guide Contracts in October
CAM's Construction Buyers Guide is an annual publication that has become the industry's go-to since its original printing in 1905. In it, you will find contact information for general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, as well as companies that provide support services, like wealth management, insurance, and more.

There Are Still Spots Open for CAM's Fall Pheasant Hunt!
Join CAM's group of shooters for a full day of networking and a test of your shooting skills! The European Pheasant Hunt is the perfect fit for those looking for a unique and challenging hunting experience.

Friday, October 22nd
Crooked Foot Upland Bird and Game Hunting Club, Owosso

The course is comprised of pairs of shooters positioned at blinds. The blinds encircle a concealed tower from which pheasants are released. Hunters rotate around the tower, ensuring an abundance of shooting from all directions. After the tower hunt, shooters return to the clubhouse for a hearty lunch, raffles, and door prizes. Then guides and dogs will return to the fields for an optional walk-up hunt! Harvested birds are cleaned and packaged - approximately 5 per shooter. CLICK HERE to register.

The 6th Annual CAM Legislative Breakfast takes place in-person at a new location this year! The Legislative Breakfast is a great chance to meet, greet and participate in a panel discussion with our Michigan Legislators.

Recommended for employees with responsibility for site safety. It covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles. Topics include OSHA construction standards including inspections, citations, and appeals, as well as employee & employer rights under the Act. Upon completion of the course, students receive an OSHA construction safety and health 30-Hour course completion card.

Registration Now Open for the 75th Edition of the National Hardware Show®
The National Hardware Show (NHS) officially opened press and exhibitor registration for its 75th edition show, set for October 21st-23rd at the Las Vegas Convention Center. After pivoting to a virtual format in 2020, NHS is returning in-person this fall with updated health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe experience.

Details on MISS DIGG's Transition to a New Platform
MISS DIG System, Inc. is a Michigan non-profit corporation that operates as the Underground Utility Safety Notification System for the entire state of Michigan. The organization will be transitioning to a new platform on December 15, 2021.

MISS DIGG will be transitioning from Norfield Development Partners to PelicanCorp. Information on ticket formats, ticket fields, and Positive Response codes is now available at pelican.missdig811.org. Additional information will be posted to the site as it becomes available, so check back routinely.
