Highlighting CCSD93 Distinguished Educators
Mr. Bargamian & Mrs. Cyr
As shared last week, CCSD93's Distinguished Educator Award is a peer-driven honor for which all CCSD93 staff members are eligible to be nominated by colleagues through a detailed application process. Applications are judged against a rubric, and those who standout most based on the criteria are selected as winners. Today we highlight two of the four CCSD93 Distinguished Educator winners from this year.

While each application explored the nominee's impact on students and their school in great depth, here are just a few highlights.
Alex Bargamian - Bilingual/EL Teacher, Jay Stream Middle School
The application written for Alex Bargamian highlights that he "exhibits humble and modest leadership across all of his responsibilities, including his role as a bilingual/EL teacher, athletic coach, Tier 3 wraparound facilitator for families, and team member." Known for his consistency, reliability, and involvement in extracurriculars and activities throughout the school, Alex's ability to establish rapport with his students and encourage them to explore their talents and abilities "creates a school environment that promotes taking risks, working hard, productively handling failure, and being a team player both on and off the court." His student-centered approach throughout his interactions with colleagues and students fosters "an inclusive, collaborative, and encouraging school environment."

Congratulations, Mr. Bargamian!

Mary Cyr - Speech-Language Pathologist, Western Trails School
The application written for Mary Cyr focuses on her skills as a knowledgeable, compassionate, and empathetic practitioner who "is without a doubt the hardest working educator [the nominators] have ever met. Her dedication to supporting students is contagious and she is a supportive presence in every meeting she attends." A consummate partner with her school's teachers, Mary seamlessly "incorporate[s] classroom learning goals, behavior expectations, units of study, and classroom themes into her daily speech lessons with students." Mary is a flexible and reliable colleague who, in addition to her SST duties, is deeply involved with the school's PBIS tier celebration committee. The best interests of students are at the heart of everything Mary does.

Congratulations, Mrs. Cyr!
Staff Overall Satisfaction Reaches All Time High
As the final in our series about this year's Satisfaction Survey, I share with you our 2019-20 Staff Satisfaction Survey results. We saw relatively consistent scores from staff members compared to last year, with notable exceptions of an all-time low in attitudes toward CCSD93's Environmentalism and an all-time high score in Overall Satisfaction.

Our district and school administrators consistently analyze and reference this data to inform decisions and to drill down on root-causes in areas identified for improvement.

You'll see more of these for each school begin to pop up on school websites in the coming weeks. For more on these scores, visit

The Last Dance(s): CCSD93 Edition
Today marks the conclusion of the digital dance-athon CCSD93 has put on throughout the past two months as we share the final two official submissions to the CCSD93 Dance Video Challenge.
Earlier this week, Jay Steam became the final school to participate with a hype video entry that may leave you ready to run through a brick wall. Check it out!
Today we share the world premiere of CCSD93's substitute teachers busting a move. Be the first to watch it here
It was terrific to see students and families join in on the fun with several submissions of their own, in addition to all of our schools and substitutes. We hope our students, families, and staff members keep the positive mentality going through the end of the school year and into the summer!
Honoring CCSD93 Staff for Years of Service
Congratulations to these staff members for celebrating 15, 20, 25, 30 & 35 years of service milestones with CCSD93! We appreciate the skills, perspective, and experience that each brings to our students, to our organization, and to our community. We are stronger because of each of them.
