OPWDD Interim Guidance on Various Services
On Thursday, The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) released interim guidance documents for various services. Many of the documents address the recent modifications to billing standards that took effect July 22 and continue through October 14. The new interim guidance documents also encourage the use of technology to facilitate remote service delivery, establish an end date for the ability to deliver and bill for services geared towards maintaining social distancing (e.g., grocery shopping, assisting with outdoor chores, etc.), and detail the alternative service delivery locations that are approved by OPWDD. The updated guidance documents can be found below.
Chapters should review these documents closely and share them with all staff responsible for the delivery and billing of these services. Chapter Corporate Compliance Officers should review the documents and ensure that Compliance Programs include a system for monitoring compliance to the temporary modifications to service delivery and billing.
