A Message from our Parish Pastor, Father Phil
|
|
Dear Parishioners:
Version 6 of The Catholic Comeback Matrix has been released and goes into effect on Monday, September 14th. The GOOD NEWS is that we have progressed to Phase Two, which brings a little wider latitude in some areas of Church life and ministry. The BAD NEWS is that with regard to our most important liturgical event – Sunday Mass – it won’t change things for us at all. READ FATHER PHIL'S FULL MESSAGE

Good and Gracious God,
You created human beings in Your
image and likeness
And gave us dominion over creation
to be stewards of the land
and co-creators of Your Kingdom.
Jesus, You became one of us
and labored as a carpenter.
You ask all people --
whatever our state of life --
to follow you faithfully.
Holy Spirit, bless all
workers this Labor Day.
May all our actions be
animated by Your love,
as we do all things for
the glory of God.
Amen.
*Mass on Labor Day, Monday September 7, will be offered at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 9:00 am.

Do you desire to grow in your Catholic faith? Do you seek connection with other women in our parish communities? Are you searching for something more in your life? Indeed, we are offering a WWP study this fall/winter and we hope you are able to join in, Grounded in Hope!
Grounded in Hope is a 17-week bible study based on the book of Hebrews, that will help you encounter Jesus in such a powerful, comforting, and stabilizing way that He can become your lifeline. In a world where levels of despair are rising, we need more than clichés or positive thinking.

Welcome Back to School!
The teachers and support staff welcomed students back on Tuesday. Parents had a choice between on-site learning or virtual learning. The teachers did a stellar job teaching remotely last spring and are prepared to do it again if we are mandated to close again this school year. I look forward to getting to know our new families and seeing the learning that will occur this school year. Please say a prayer for the teachers, support staff, student, and their families as we begin the 2020-2021 school year.
Communication Collaboration
During these extraordinary times, school leaders are collaborating in unprecedented ways. Learn more about the many different groups that Amy Nelson, our school principal, communicates with on a regular basis to ensure that St. John the Baptist School is informed and well-represented.
