"Time with Eagles" Exhibit at Charlevoix Circle of Arts
Charlevoix Circle of Arts’ exhibit gallery celebrates the eagle for autumn 2020, with a collection of images by noteworthy Charlevoix photographer Bill Dietrich. “Time with Eagles” will be on display from September 18th through October 31st, with all work available for purchase.

Dietrich is a Charlevoix photographer with an accounting degree, a career as a real estate broker, and a passion for photography. Dietrich’s inspiration for photography started with his involvement in the Charlevoix Photography Club, where he has learned volumes from the club and by shooting with fellow photographers. Dietrich enjoys photographing many subjects, but his big focus is on wildlife and nature. Spending quiet time in nature has a very peaceful effect which shows in his images.

While half of the images in “Time with Eagles” were taken in Charlevoix the Beautiful, other images in the exhibit were taken in the Pacific Northwest in Skagit Valley on the Skagit River where Dietrich attended an eagle photography workshop in Seattle and La Conner, Washington. The “Bald Eagles of the Pacific Northwest” workshop was presented by Aaron Baggenstos, a world class photographer and wildlife workshop presenter.

For more information about the exhibit or the Charlevoix Circle of Arts please call (231) 547-3554 or visit the website HERE

Charlevoix Alano Club Announcement
The Charlevoix Alano Club’s annual fundraising cash raffle has been cancelled due to Covid-19 and replaced with our virtual fundraising effort through our new website located at www.CharlevoixAlano.org. We just learned of a $2,000 matching grant if we raise an additional $2,000 between now and Labor Day. We started the fundraiser two weeks ago and have raised just over $6,000 of our $10,000 goal. This fundraising goal will help meet 20% of our annual operations budget to continue to offer recovery resources for the community. Since March 17th, over 20 weekly self-help meetings have been made available through zoom and nearly 10,000 log-ins have been recorded hosted by the Charlevoix Alano Club. To find a list of available meetings or make a donation to support our ongoing efforts to assure recovery resources are available to those in need, please go to our website at www.CharlevoixAlano.org.

Save The Theater with Your Support!
On March 16th, the Charlevoix Cinema III had to close its doors due to COVID-19. While it was able to reopen with capacity restraints on June 10th, today’s environment has proven to be difficult to maintain operations. While many downtowns have long since lost their home-town theaters, Charlevoix was able to keep theirs, though the possibility of shutting the doors, particularly come the shoulder and winter seasons, is very real. That is why the Charlevoix Cinema III is asking for your support to keep its doors open! Community members, friends, visitors, and individuals can donate through the GoFundMe set up by the incoming new owner, Tom Jillson and his family.

Businesses – there is opportunity for your support as well! Charlevoix Cinema III offers advertisement reels to play before the movies, and is offering that opportunity as an extended perk for businesses able to purchase those slots now. Make your advertising dollars two-fold: promote your business, and support your home-town theater! Call Tom to discuss in more detail! 231.547.4353.

Additional opportunities for both businesses and individuals include private showings and personalized marquee messages – contact the theater for more information!
