As a part of our Residency Program, event producer and musician Jocelyn Bonadio-de Freitas, has organized a series of three events premiering at Loisaida Inc. Center. The events will take place simultaneously at Loisaida Inc. on the Lower East Side and at
Jocelyn will be performing an original song, host a digital conversation chat with a group in Puerto Rico, get the opportunity view photo exhibit by Adnelly Marichal, and enjoy pastellitos made on the Lower East Side.

As the year wraps up, we are grateful to reflect on the many accomplishments that Loisaida Inc. has been able to accomplish in collaboration with our community of makers, artists, creatives, and learners. Some of our initiatives include:

Las Navidades last more than a month, and it is truly a time of merriment, fiesta, singing, dancing, and celebration. Islanders, like all groups that celebrate Christmas or other religious holidays, have many distinct plates exclusive to the season; coquito certainly has a privileged place amongst this Christmas cuisine. Similarly, Puerto Rico has music that is mostly enjoyed during las Navidades. You hear Navidades music in July, and strange feelings of disorientation, expectation, nostalgia, a countdown for December happens"
