A Word From Our Principal
Dear St. Francis Borgia Families,
It has been a fabulous Catholic Schools’ Week so far!
MONDAY: Students enjoyed popcorn and a movie in their SFB Spiritwear! The thank you notes to parishioners that the students made have been inserted into the St. Francis Borgia church bulletins that will be handed out this weekend. Students had a “Sneak Peek” into next year when next year’s teacher visited their classroom and shared some fun things that will happen in that class. Students were so excited!
TUESDAY: Students had a BLAST playing outside in the snow and then coming in for some hot cocoa. Donations were brought in and we collected 110 pairs of mittens and 66 hats! THANK YOU for helping others in need! We prayed the rosary together, led by the 8th grade. It was a prayerful gathering, aided by technology. All classes prayed together as we watched the ZOOM.
WEDNESDAY: Students wore crazy socks and brought in socks to donate to others. We collected 409 pairs of socks to donate to those in need. THANK YOU!!! Students were happy to receive a Dilly Bar in the afternoon – which were purchased with the $1 out of dress code money from 1/21. Half of the students had class with Fr. Patrick and the other half attended Adoration. THANK YOU to the parents to treated the teachers to a taco lunch! Much appreciated!
THURSDAY: We Dropped Everything And Read today! There are so many benefits to reading and it is important to remind each other to read every day. Students brought in their favorite snack and brought in another snack to donate to Family Sharing of Ozaukee County. There was A LOT of food brought in! The links for our Virtual Art Show were sent via OptionC earlier today. THANK YOU to the Hospitality Committee for lunch today from Settler’s Inn. It was delicious!
TOMORROW: Students can come to school in Sweats and a Sweatshirt! (Grades 5 – 8 need to wear uniforms to mass, and then can change after.) The afternoon will be packed with Cedar Crest Ice Cream, Kids’ Choice Activities: an Art Project and Minute to Win it games.
I attended a Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department meeting today. Covid-related decisions for our school are based off of information received from the health professionals in this area. Today I was told that “masking is critical” in controlling the spread of the Covid 19 virus. At this time, we will follow the health department recommendation of wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing to the best of our ability, washing hands and surfaces, and asking families to keep their children home if they are exhibiting symptoms. THANK YOU for all of your effort in these areas! We have been very successful in keeping our community healthy as we make decisions based on the advice of health professionals.
Many Blessings,
Amy Royes
