ACC Weekly Announcements August 5, 2020
Pastors, Church Administrators and Secretaries, Bulletin Editors:

These weekly announcements are meant to be a helpful resource, especially for those of you who put your congregations' bulletins together on a weekly basis. If there are ways we could present this information more effectively please don't hesitate to pass on your ideas or give feedback.

Some churches forward the following information and community life announcements to their members using email while others post various events in their weekly bulletin, on their church website, or Facebook page. This and past columns are available on the ACC webpage at atlanticcoastconference.net/ba.

Please let us know if there are additional ways we can assist you as we serve together.

Landis Communities Annoucnements
Landis Homes is happy to help support the 2020 Water Week Aug 7-15. This event, by the Lancaster Conservancy, is full of great ways to be outside in safe ways and to learn more about the Conestoga River basin. Everyone is encouraged to take some time to walk one of the many cricks and creeks and remove litter. There is a lot more information, including other ways to be involved, at https://www.lancasterconservancy.org/water-week/

Nickels for Neighbors 2020
The 2020 ACC Nickels For Neighbors grant will be given to the The City School in Philadephia for an upcoming playground project. The City School, is a Pre-K to grade 12 Christian school that serves 400 students in the heart of Philadelphia. It was formed 2013 and 14 when three city-area christian schools, including Philadelphia Mennonite High School, merged to form a single school to have a greater impact together.

The Project: the Middle School students love to play Gaga and on rainy days often set up an indoor pit using tables from the cafeteria. They have requested an outdoor pit at the new Poplar campus. This will allow students to form spontaneous Gaga games, get good excercise, and include others in their play.

Kairos Spiritual Direction Training Program: Enrolling Now for Jan 2021
The Parish Resource Center is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for a new cohort of the Kairos Spiritual Direction Training program. The next cohort for this two-year certificate program begins in January. This cohort will have a new emphasis on practicing spiritual kinship with those on the margins who have not had the opportunity or means to participate in spiritual direction. This focus grew out of PRC’s work in food insecurity, immigration, and restorative practices. For more information and to apply, click here.
