The healing power of kindness is present in every gift.
It is our privilege to pass it on.
Hello,

As we head into summer, we are thrilled to share some positive news that is happening around the Bronson system in this month’s newsletter.

Thank you for your continued support of Bronson!

The Turn 2 Foundation has made a $25,000 gift to the Bronson Health Foundation’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund. The gift was the final donation needed to reach a match challenge started on April 29 when the  Glen C. and Gail G. Smith Fund  through the Kalamazoo Community Foundation offered to match gifts to Bronson up to $100,000. Turn 2 is a nonprofit organization started by retired New York Yankees star and Kalamazoo native, Derek Jeter, and his father, Dr. Charles Jeter. It was created to motivate young people to "Turn 2" healthy lifestyles.

Sharlee Jeter, president of the Turn 2 Foundation, says the gift is a way to give back to healthcare workers and their families. “Bronson employees have done so much for the health of our hometown community and it’s important for us to make sure they are supported as well,” says Sharlee.

In addition to the Turn 2 Foundation, a number of community members and organizations helped fulfill the match goal earlier this month. The Havirmill Foundation, Kim and Valerie Nuyen & Family, and an anonymous family foundation also made significant gifts during the challenge.
Thank You Respite Room Sponsors
Employee respite rooms support the well-being of Bronson staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each room provides a restful break and includes things like massage chairs, sound machines, zen gardens, stress reducing activities, and messages of Positivity from the community. These respite rooms are made possible thanks to the generosity of these sponsors!

Bronson NICU Receives New Recliners
Bronson Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cares for nearly 750 newborns each year.

Some of these babies spend days, weeks or months in the NICU. That means family members also spend many hours at their baby’s bedside or holding their little one.

Through the generosity of our community members who supported our 2019 Run & Walk, we were able to provide new recliners in each of the rooms. These new chairs are providing much needed comfort for families.
