Lovejoy High School News
A Message from the Principal
August 24, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

Week one is in the books! I hope last week's transition from summer to virtual learning was a good one for your family. We are still adjusting to our new schedules at my house, but we are settling into our routines a little more each day.

Next Wednesday September 2nd we will be hosting Founder’s Day for all 9th graders and other students who are new to LHS. Regardless of the Learning Option that was chosen for the start of school, these students will have the opportunity to come to LHS and walk through the building. I will be sending out a specific email for these parents and students later this week containing details about Founder’s Day. Information will include designated arrival and pickup times, what to bring, and what students can expect during their time on campus that day. If you have a 9th grader or a new student to LHS, I hope your child will be able to participate in this student only event.

Please take a few minutes to look through the information I have included below. There are helpful links as well as updates regarding how to request technology if your student needs a device.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield
Principal
Lovejoy High School

On B days, your student will log on to the 4th period Google Classroom for SEL/Advisory time.

There is not a separate Google Classroom for SEL.

Advanced vs. Pre-AP
This year we have changed the name designation for a group of our courses. Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, courses that were formerly titled Pre-AP courses are now designated as Advanced. Advanced courses are weighted the same as Pre-AP courses had been and there have been no curriculum changes to the courses based on the name change.
