at The Meeting Room of the Newbury Town Offices, 937 Route 103, Newbury.  
An evening celebrating Poetry Month with contest winners on the theme 'Courage to Create', judged by poet Ala Khaki.The Literary Arts Guild of the Center for the Arts, presents the winners of the sixth annual contest in celebration of National Poetry Month. Arts on the Green is a Fine Arts and Fine Crafts juried show. All works must have been created by the person displaying at the site. Complete prospectus HERE

Waltz for Beginners 
4 week workshop (4 sessions)
Monday, 6:00 - 7:00 pm, April 8th, 15th, 22th and 29th. The Waltz was the first dance in which the man and lady danced with body contact, and was considered quite scandalous in its day. Waltz is characterized by a lovely rise and fall action. Waltz has an elegant gracefulness with a romantic feel.
 $40 single/$80 couple (No partner required). 18 years and older.

Colby-Sawyer College Presents Elevated
Under the artistic direction of adjunct faculty member Laura Dunlop Shepherd, this two-act evening of dance features original choreography in genres ranging from classical ballet and jazz to contemporary, tap, and modern. Nils Johnson is an oil painter, pianist, and lawyer who has kindly offered to demonstrate his incredible underpainting technique for the Center for the Arts community.

Art and poetry exhibit opening reception 
An exhibit in the Pillsbury Free Library. Art and photography inspired by the poems of Robert Frost. Exhibit viewing and refreshments begin at 6:30 pm, followed at 7 pm by "Three poets": LR Berger, Deborah Brown, and Matt Forest Esenwine will read and discuss their poems. Free.

World War II - The Words and The Music
The Salisbury Historical Society Scholarship Program will present an evening fundraiser in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944. Held at the Salisbury Town Hall.  Well-known vocalists Nancy Tripp and Jonathan Fowler will perform a selection of popular songs of World War II. In addition, letters from the military to their families will be read. Performing Arts Series:
The Bradford Bog People -Old Time Music Concert 
American Roots Music at its best!
at Warner Town Hall, Main Street, Warner
Take a step back in time, meet, and listen to the Bradford Bog People. Often aired on NHPR, they present mostly traditional acoustic music from the Appalachian Mountains on banjo, fiddle, and guitar. Beautiful harmonies and some clogging too. Beth Eldridge: fiddle, guitar, vocals; Tii McLane: banjo, fiddle, guitar, vocals; and Woody Pringle: banjo and mandolin.

The Bradford Bog People have performed throughout the US have recorded a number of CDs and can be heard on the radio. You don't want to miss this opportunity to stamp your feet and enjoy some real rocking music!
